Beautiful cottage set in historic water mill
Upon the River Nene, our lovingly converted cottage is a perfect escape from the hustle & bustle of daily life. Set in the heart of Northamptonshire, Ringstead is a historic village which our 14th century mill proudly encases through original beams, wheels & more. Featuring 2 bedrooms, a large open plan kitchen/living area & a good sized bathroom with a lovely bath it's perfect to relax & rewind in with great views out. The tearoom below means only a few seconds walk for meals, treats & more! As part of the restoration we've retained as many of the original features of the original mill as we possible can. As you walk through all areas of the property you will be able to spot original beams above you, the original mill stone set into the floor and so much more. No prizes for guessing all of the original artefacts that have been reused! We want you to be able to enjoy your holiday and so we will leave you to your own devices. We don't live on site, however we have a team of people happy to help in the tearoom downstairs. Please get in touch if there's anything we can do- simply drop us a message on here or give us a call and we will be more than happy to help you. We are fortunate enough to have set our holiday cottage within our grade 2 listed property which features in the doomsday book meaning we are steeped in history. Our cottage has been converted sympathetically with many of the beams featured dating back centuries. History literally surrounds you wherever you look! Set above The Water Mill Tearooms, you only have a flight of stairs between you and a great selection of freshly prepared meals including breakfast/lunch and treats for all dietary requirements! Local amenities are plentiful with great local pubs & restaurants. Our county is full of historic venues to visit including the home of many household names such as Dr. Marten. A short drive away the hugely popular Rushden Lakes shopping complex has a great selection of big brands & more if you are feeling the need for retail therapy! Set on the River Nene we are fortunate enough to have an abundance of walks and activities only a stones throw from our door. We have taken the time to pull together a comprehensive pack of activities, walks & local attractions for you to explore during your stay. We recommend visiting by car wherever possible as being a rural village our public transport links are few & far between. Car parking is available but is shared with the marina & other businesses meaning during busy periods spaces maybe limited. 1 car parking space is included in your stay in the Marina’s overflow car park. Sorry, we cannot guarantee space for any additional cars, particularly during peak season. Important information during winter: Please note that the heating utilises an eco friendly water sourced pump which works on a “low and slow” heating approach. We have set the cottage to a comfortably warm temperature and provide lots of blankets & hot water bottles to warm you up quickly as the system does not provide a quick “boost” mode. During hours of sundown, the access route to the property is largely unlit so we would highly recommend a cautious approach and to bring a torch to guide you.
