14 rue de Monteville
The house is a traditional fermette. All rooms have been newly re-decorated (as photographed). The house you will be staying in is attached to our home and has a communal court yard where you can sit outside. The setting as very rural and rustic. Possibility of horse riding for more experienced riders. The little pony has retired apart from tiny tots. Domaine de la Traxene within walking distance. Continental breakfast is available on prior request. This is the place to come if you would like a slower pace of life, a rural retreat, retro living but with home comforts. A taste of village life in real France. Suitable for those who love out of doors pursuits and a homely setting. The peace to read a good book and to relax. Great for children, animals, horse riders, bike riders, walkers and ping pong players. We are 50 mins drive from Calais so a good stop off on the way, or way back from further south. Wonderful walking and cycling. Le Fournil, gastronomic resturant and Domaine de La Traxene, for weddings and functions, both walking distance. We are on hand if you need us, but we are very low profile! We are happy to provide continental breakfast if required but please let us know in advance. Nearby town of Fruges for all needs. St Omer, Montreuil sur mer and Hesdin not far (between 20 and 40 minutes drive). Le Touquet for sophistication, shopping and the beach 50mins. In Summer the house is unheated (although electric fires are permanently available). In Winter and cooler weather there is electric heating. For romantic/extra cosy moments indoors there is a wood burner in the sitting room which we are happy to light for you (if you need help) in cooler weather. During the winter months wood is available for you to use throughout your stay at a small charge depending on quantity. The house sleeps 9. The exact arrangement of beds is one double bed in the downstairs bedroom, one double bed in the upstairs bedroom 1, a double and single bed in upstairs bedroom 2 and a sofa-bed on the upstairs landing (you pass through here to access the upstairs bedrooms which have doors and are private spaces). The sofa-bed is a double but is a little smaller than the other large double beds. Two ponies live on the premises and a Breton Spaniel, all very friendly.
