Our spacious 19th century farmhouse is situated in a tranquil village. This beautiful, stone-built detached single property combines the traditional charm of wood beams, stone fireplaces and oak flooring. There are multiple walks, along canals, loop the nature reserve, or up to the moors with many ending up at great country pubs. The heart of the home is the farmhouse kitchen. Bespoke oak units and a traditional Aga range cooker, make this warm and friendly room the perfect gathering spot. If you make it beyond the kitchen and adjoining family room, and a WC off the kitchen. There is plenty of other living spaces too: an open plan sitting room and dining room with a generous farmhouse table, plus a games/play room along with a spacious living room which opens out on to a impressive, elevated terrace. The elevated terrace has outdoor seating, along with a 6 burner gas BBQ. The amazing views of the countryside, distant coastline and sunsets from the terrace are not to be missed. On a clear day, you can see Blackpool as well as the foothills of the Lake District. Upstairs comprises of 5 bedrooms: master king-size bedroom with en-suite and jacuzzi bath; king-size bedroom with en-suite; three further double/Queen bedrooms, including a further en-suite. The final bedroom has 4 singles ( NOT bunks beds ) in the final bedroom, finally upstaires there is a family bathroom. Lots of secure and private outdoor areas including enclosed grounds; woods and small lake within the enclosed garden with secure electric gates to access the property. Outside, there is a paddock, pond and small woods plus ample secure space to play with the children, spot the local wildlife, bring your own bikes, ( secure lockup ) enjoy a BBQ or simply watch the beautiful sunsets over the coast. There’s no need to even take the car out to enjoy the well appointed village. Guests can simply walk out from the secluded spot of the farm, along the private farm track, and be in the village within a 5 minute walk, giving you access to several pubs, a village tea room, a golf course, childrens playground, around a huge fishing lake, which has family friendly walks up to the waterfall. Don't forget the village store for those last minute provisions. Please just give the contact number a call in case of any issue or problem. Accessibilty - the farm is ideally located in a quiet village, yet with the convenience of the M61/M6/M6 motorway networks just a few minutes’ drive away. Celebrations - The farm is the perfect for celebrating a special birthday or other occasion. Houghton Tower, Shaw Hill Golf & Spa Hotel and Rivington Hall Barn are all close by for guests who may be attending weddings in the area. The Village - Just a five minute walk into Brinscall and you can enjoy the village tea room, local pubs, playground & even Brinscall swimming baths built over 100 years ago by the Parke Family, who also built our farmhouse! Hiking and Walking – Bring your boots! There are some great walks from the back door - easy ones to the pub, or more challenging, longer walks. The public footpath outside the farm, takes you down to the canals, or up across to the edge of the West Pennine moors across to White Coppice, linking to Rivington Pike, Anglezarke and the large reservoirs. Mountain Biking - We do have some bikes available for your use, but you may wish to bring your own. You can securely lock up your bikes indoors without a problem. Directly from the farm track, you can access over 20 miles of off road bridle paths. From Brinscall, you can connect to White Coppice, then Rivington; and this loop will link you to to the Commonwealth Games MTB circuit. Golf – Bring your clubs to the local ‘Pay and Play’ 9 Hole course, located just 2 miles from the property. Go Ape - We are located very close to the tree top adventure park on Rivington, giving adrenaline pumping action for all, along with views across the hills and a zip line over the water! And if the weather is not on your side - ice skating, ten pin bowling, trampoline parks and cinemas are all available in the nearby town. Close to the motorway junctions for the M65, M61 and the M6. All within a five minute car ride away, allowing you to get around very easily. A bus stops at the end of the road, allowing you quick access to the train station at Chorley if required. Perfect walks from the doorstep; as the farm is on a public footpath going to canal, as well as bridle paths for great MTBiking to Rivington and White Coppice. If you are going to one of the local wedding venues close by we can accomadate you. We are extremely close to Houghton Tower and Rivington Hall Barn, as well as Astley Bank, Beeston Manor and the Tipis @ Riley Green. Hiking and Walking – Bring your boots. Endless walking from the back door, a public footpath goes through the property. Start with a simple and easy one from the back door, via the nature reserve on the disused railway line and down to the village lake to feed the ducks allowing the little ones to play on the village playground, the Village Tea room is on route. For the afternoon head down to the canal walk, with perfectly timed stops at two country pubs on the canal where you can recover with a liquid lunch or watch the canal boats at top lock. Other longer walks include to White Coppice and linking to Rivington Pike and Rake Brook reservoir’s, more advanced walkers will find the moors more challenging. Golf – Bring your clubs to the two courses within the village, located within 2 miles from the property. Brockholes Nature Reserve - Great place for the kids Go Ape, only 8 miles from the property - Something for the Kids or the young at heart – We are located very close to the tree top adventure giving adrenaline pumping action along with views across the hills and zip line over the water! Mountain Biking - A fully secure lock up for multiple bikes. If you are coming with your expensive bikes we can accomadate these, please ask in advance. Once you are fueled up with coffee and breakfast you simply ride from the farm track and you are immediately off-road. Easy link from the farm track down bridal paths, linking White Coppice, Anglezarke and down to Rivington with the specially built Healy nab mountain bike trail.
