The private apartment is situated above our 3 bay detached garage, within the grounds of our home. We live down a quiet, scenic country lane giving the feeling of a rural location, but within a few miles of Matlock. It offers the freedom of modest self-catering accommodation, ideal for short breaks, the minimum stay is 3 nights. Ford Farm is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers. Ideal base for walking, cycling and exploring the Peak National Park. We have committed to Airbnb’s updated cleaning protocols meaning that due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. Some of the availability calendar may show as blocked, however, we are releasing dates on a shorter notice basis due to the possibility for change. If you have a specific date in mind and our calendar shows it as unavailable, please message to check The Space The front door opens into the open plan kitchen, dining area and lounge. The kitchen has a kettle, toaster, an under counter fridge, four ring ceramic hob and combination microwave. There is cutlery and crockery along with pots and pans. The settee in the lounge converts easily into an extra double bed with the bedding if required. There is a television, DVD and free wi-fi for your use. The double bedroom leads off the lounge and on into the ensuite bathroom where there is a spacious shower. All bedding, towels, crockery and cutlery are supplied, and there is tea/coffee and milk to get you started. There is also private, off-the-road car parking and outdoor seating area. The apartment is available for your own exclusive use during your stay. We do not share the accommodation with you - it is available for you to come and go as you please. You have your own key and a secure private entrance. We live next door and are available/contactable for any further information you may require. As we live across the garden, we will be around some of the time and so can be available for as little or as much information as you might require. We greet our guests on arrival, and provide a brief introduction to the accommodation. Ogston Reservoir lies in the beautiful Amber Valley and is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI). The reservoir and surrounding area is a favourite for bird watchers and is home to Ogston Bird Club. Venturing not very far can take you to Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle, Chatsworth House and famous farm shop is 25 minutes away, passing Haddon Hall on your way. Matlock and Matlock Bath and the Heights of Abraham are only a 15 minutes drive to the west and the historic market towns of Chesterfield and Bakewell are just 20 minutes to the north. We are 15 mins from junction 28 of the M1 giving good access to the cities of both Nottingham and Derby A car is required for trips out as the nearest bus stop is more than a mile away, but there's plenty of great walks on our doorstep. There are a number of places to eat within a short distance, the White Horse in Woolley Moor and the White Bear at Stretton are the two closest pubs, both with excellent menus and reputations. As the apartment is above our 3 bay garage, the access is via an outdoor open steel staircase meaning that stilettos are a no go. You might feel that this makes the property unsuitable for small children and less mobile adults. As the apartment is above our garage space, there could be the very occasional noise from the opening of the front rolling door. The access to our property is via a half mile long country lane which is single track with plenty of passing places. It is council maintained but the verges can become a little overgrown and there are some potholes which vary through the year depending on the council patching them as they see fit. COVID-19 We take health precautions seriously, for you as well as ourselves. We are conscious of carrying out a thorough cleaning programme and are following UK government guidelines as well as the AirBnB enhanced cleaning protocols. We are ensuring that all high touch surfaces are disinfected. All bed linen and towels are laundered at maximum temperatures. All duvets and pillows are bagged for 72 hours and then aired before being used again (exceeding existing guidelines and protocols). We provide the recommended extra cleaning supplies in each property for your peace of mind.
