Villa Rosa is located in the traditional village Anatoli, just 10 minutes from the beach. Built at 600m above sea level, at the southern slope of Mt. Dikti, it enjoys the panoramic view over the city of Ierapetra, the Lybian Sea and Chrissi Island. The exterior smoothly adapts to the rest of the village without compromising its charm, and the interior provides the warmth and coziness that guests need to feel right at home. Ideal for families and couples. Villa Rosa is centrally located in the traditional village Anatoli, less than one minute from the main road. After a few minutes walk through the picturesque alleys, you will be lead to our entrance. The door opens to the patio with panoramic view to the Libyan Sea. The property was fully re-built based on the remnants of the old stone house that was in its place, originating in 1864, following the same floor plan with its varying levels and characteristic traditional arches, all contributing to both an architecturally interesting and a practically convenient house. The Villa at a spacious 300m² can conveniently host up to 10 people and consists of two different spaces. The main villa is built on 2 floors and consists of a living room, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. The ground floor features the living room with a sofa bed, the twin bedroom with en suite bathroom (shower) and a fully equipped kitchen with oven, stove, fridge/freezer, toaster & kettle. The stairs leads up to the double bedroom with en suite bathroom with bath tub and washing machine. From the ground floor there is direct access to the patio with BBQ area and sitting area to enjoy the panoramic sea view. The studio, independent from the villa, is accessed from the patio and features a living area, kitchenette, bedroom with double bed and 1 bathroom with bath tub. Depending on how many persons are travelling we will accordingly prepare the space. We give our guests space but are avaialble when needed Anatoli has a long history with the Venetians exploiting its strategic position in 1100 B.C. and in earlier years with contributing to the Cretan Revolution against the Turkish. Away from the hectic city lifestyle, hidden in the rich woods of Mt. Dikti, the “balcony to the Libyan Sea”, as Anatoli is called, hosts a number of traditional stone houses, two restaurants, two cafeterias, a school, and numerous archaeological and religious monuments including orthodox churches and monasteries. Ierapetra is just 15km away from Villa Rosa and is ideal for holidays for families and couples who want to combine a lively town with lovely beaches and excursion opportunities. It is the most southern city in Europe and has a fantastic warm climate. It is one of the most fertile and productive areas of Greece. 20km west of Anatoli on the coast you will find the charming fisher's village of Myrtos with a lovely pebble beach and little restaurants on the sea side. There is easy access to the national road which makes the location an excellent starting point for further exploration of Eastern Crete and its south as you drive through stunning scenery and towards the Lassithi Plateau, or drive to Aghios Nikolaos, enjoy the breath taking views over Mirabello Bay and the famous leper island of Spinalonga. Spinalonga’s history has been documented in several world-class novels, among which the recent best seller ‘The Island’ of the award winning author Victoria Hislop. Not suitable for guests with walking difficulties. The villa can't be approached by car. You will have to park your car at the entrance of the village and walk a few minutes to the villa. Car is necessary.
