Perfect for commuting, ideal base for exploring

Situated in the beautiful village of West Hallam, conveniently located near to East Midlands International Airport, and with great transport links, our house is the perfect venue for work or leisure. Guests will benefit from an impressive array of friendly, traditional pubs, cafes and shops all within easy walking distance. Private: double bedroom, shower room, large, comfortable living room with log burner and views over the countryside beyond. Shared beautiful open plan kitchen diner. The large living room is totally private and for your use only. I'm an avid reader so there are lots of books to read if you forget to bring your own. I'm a particular fan of D.H.Lawrence (whose birthplace is only a short drive away) so there are a few of his books on the shelves. The log burner makes the room particularly cosy on cold winter nights and with uninterrupted views over the garden and the countryside beyond you can admire the view from the comfort of the large sofa. There is a large tarmac driveway to park your car. Access to your room with double bed, your bathroom with shower, and your lounge is via the main hallway, where you may see us passing through to the kitchen. The hallway is light and spacious and we'll greet you on arrival, if you prefer, or we can arrange for the key to be collected. We want your stay with us to be exactly what you want it to be and we'll help as much as we can. We don't want to invade your space (though we are quite busy people anyway) so hopefully we can strike the prefect balance. If you need anything, though, please don't be afraid to ask. West Hallam prides itself on its community spirit and hosts the Well Dressing Festival (with a scarecrow trail) every year at the beginning of July; The West Hallam Show, (a gardening extravaganza) in September and the Christmas Light Switch On in early December. There are several well attended churches, successful football and cricket teams and the usual groups for youngsters. There is a very small shopping area in the village where you'll find pretty much everything you could possibly need: doctors surgery, pharmacy, Tesco Express, post office, Chinese takeaway, a fish and chip shop, a pizzeria and an Indian takeaway. We live in a village on the outskirts of the Derbyshire Dales, with excellent transport links to Nottingham and Derby (the bus stop is almost at the top of the drive). East Midlands Parkway (trains) and East Midlands Airport are both within 25 mins drive. Very easy access to the M1, A38 and A50.
