The Weaver's Workshop, Cuckoo's Nest Farm.
The Weaver’s Workshop is part of Cuckoo’s Nest Farm a Grade 2 Listed, traditional 18th century Yorkshire farm. A cosy studio apartment in a tranquil setting. Located on Addingham Moorside, between the spa town of Ilkley and the market town of Skipton on the edge of the magnificent Yorkshire Dales. We provide cereal, yogurt, home baked bread, fresh free range eggs, milk and juice for your breakfast as well as tea and ground coffee, if you have any special dietary requirements just let us know. The studio apartment has been sympathetically converted from an original Weaver’s Workshop – using natural materials to maintain an authentic feel. It is cosy, with comfortable seating, dining and sleeping areas – including a hand crafted bed made from wood beams from the farm. There is a compact kitchen area with full size oven and a small fridge with freezer compartment, and a modern shower room. There is also 15 acres of woodland and fields for you to enjoy, including a stream that runs through the land, and plenty of places to explore or sit and relax. Ideal for two people, however we can provide a travel cot for a baby and there is a sofa bed for a small child. We love well behaved dogs and they are very welcome however we do make a charge of £5 per stay for them (please don't forget to pay during your stay) please let us know in advance if you are bringing a dog. Although the Weaver’s workshop is attached to our family home, it is very private with its own access, parking and private patio area. However we are here for you if you need us, if we are not at home you can always phone us. An ideal spot for those who want a break from their busy lives, the Weavers Workshop offers a tranquil retreat in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside. You are likely to spot plenty of wildlife, including roe deer, barn owls, kestrel and if you are lucky badgers, foxes and polecats are also regular visitors but a little more elusive. If you like an active break then this is also ideal for you to explore the area on the many footpaths or cycle routes locally or just up the road in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It is situated above the lovely village of Addingham, with four pubs and a Co-op store – just 5 minute drive or 30 min walk away (45 min back). You could say we are ‘off the beaten track’, however we actually are down a beaten track! The track is 1/2 mile long and quite uneven in places, it is accessible in any car but care should be taken as you approach down the track particularly if you are not confident or your car has a low wheel base. Similarly, care needs to be taken walking up the steps to the entrance as these are all made from original stone that has worn slightly over the past few hundred years. There is a plug in charge point for electric cars (at nominal charge). You could say we are ‘off the beaten track’, however we actually are down a beaten track! The Weavers Workshop is accessible in any car but care should be taken as you approach down the track.
