Small-town Chic 3BR 2Bath
The best in southern hospitality, comfort, and value, this 3 bedroom, 2 bath, pet-friendly gem on a large fenced lot is well-stocked with creature comforts and is centrally located between Birmingham, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, and Talladega Superspeedway. Groceries, restaurants, and shopping are all within a mile. 1/8 of a mile off of Hwy 280, you will find "the Chic" to be a most convenient and comfortable accommodation for work or pleasure travel. With hardwood floors almost through out, Rusty and I have drawn out this home's potential in a 9 month restoration. Arched doorways give the living space a great room feel and a 6-foot picture window offers a lovely view of the neighborhood. The home feels warm and airy at the same time. Situated east west, the Chic is flooded with natural light both morning and afternoon. Nearly every room features hard wood walls, ceilings, or floors for a masculine yet sophisticated craftsman-style. There is a large covered front porch to enjoy your morning coffee as well as a small deck out back. A converted coat closet serves as an office nook in the living room. The kitchen has been fully renovated and is equipped with all the must-have appliances as well as an Instant Pot. A combination of red oak carpentry, subway tile, and custom countertops makes the kitchen a space to truly enjoy. The water pressure here is fantastic for an unbeatable shower. You are sure to rest well in either the king or one of the double bedrooms . Rugs throughout soften the sound of footsteps while central heat and air keep you cozy no matter the weather outside. A fully equipped laundry room has all you need with plenty of room for ironing too. It's our pleasure to offer this home away from home to area visitors and guests. This affordable, private, and stylish home can comfortably accomodate large families as well as travelers with well-behaved fur babies at a fraction of the cost of other accomodations. Enjoy! Sunny and Rusty Guests will have access to the entire house with the exception of the hall closet which is locked for storage. A full laundry is available with all necessary supplies. Well-behaved pets are welcomed here as well. We provide a large dog bed in the foyer and the large fenced yard will allow your fur baby to run free under supervision. Please do not allow them on the furniture and crate them if need be. Our small cleaning fee is for our human guests only and assumes that pet owners who stay with us will be responsible ones. Rusty and I love to meet new people. We also appreciate the need for privacy. We are accessible by phone or text at all times during your stay. We are glad to meet or exceed your expectations. Please do not hesitate to ask questions, make concerns known, or request an item that will make your stay more accommodating. We love to serve up the best in hospitality. Think of us as your inside scoop to the area and help us make this your home away from home. This working class neighborhood has been kept postcard pretty since the 1940s with the exception of 1 or two houses here and there. There is a walking track 100 yards to the left of the property or you can take a stroll around the neighborhood. Kids play in the open yards on sunny days. Extra parking is available in the back for U-Hauls or RVs. You may park inside the fence if you'd like. We host working people, marathon runners, skeet shooters, covered bridge enthusiasts, cave explorers, concert-goers, NASCAR fans, football fanatics, and many just passing through. If you aren't sure what there is to do in the area, please don't hesitate to ask. There is so much to do from here that we have families who stay with us as part of or all of their vacations. It's the perfect base camp for daytime activities in every direction. Once you arrive, you will find a list of insider suggestions of unique things to do that is sure to interest you and your traveling companions. Please read some of our guest's comments. Whether you are hunting deer or Big Foot, taking a break from the rat race or attending a film festival, you will not be disappointed. If it rains very hard, the street in front can sometimes hold water, but will not be significant enough to hinder your vehicle's access to the driveway. Every small town has its characters. If you happen to get a wave from a grinning fellow on a lawn mower, wave back, that'll be Presley. He does a lot of yard work in the neighborhood and everybody knows him. He's known for telling tall tales if you talk to him. He's our local cajun character. We charge extra for him! Just kidding, but he's harmless and no bother.
