The Africa Suite has its own private entrance and comprises an extremely spacious, warmly decorated bedroom with beautiful open views towards Knaresborough and beyond, and a large luxurious en-suite bathroom. The Africa Suite has a super comfortable King size bed, in addition to a sofa that converts into an equally comfortable Double bed – as such, the room is perfect for either a couple or a family. Please note that the double occupancy price listed is for 2 people sharing the King bed - should the King bed and the Double sofa bed be required for 2 people sharing this room, an additional charge of £10 will be required to be paid locally on arrival. Having experienced a number of safari holidays in Kenya and Tanzania, when renovating Byways, we decided to try and recreate the experience of Africa in the decoration and style of this room, which is filled with ornaments, carvings and paintings brought back from our travels. The large en-suite bathroom, which has both bath and shower facilities, has fabulously fluffy towels, and Cole & Lewis shampoo, body wash, body lotion and soap for guests use. There is a large wardrobe with plenty of hangers, in addition to a chest of drawers and a dressing table, providing plenty of space for your clothes and belongings during your stay. There is also a 26” TV with integrated DVD player, tea and coffee facilities, and a small fridge containing bottled water. We have an extensive list of DVDs available to borrow during your stay. There is a huge amount of pubs, restaurants, and fabulous places to visit just a short drive away, all of which are detailed in our Guest Information Folder, which can be emailed to you prior to your stay if required. Our separate ground floor Breakfast Room, basked in sunshine on a sunny day, can seat up to 8 guests, where a Full English or Continental Breakfast may be enjoyed for an additional fee paid locally. There is private parking for several cars at the front of the property. We also have another two rooms, The Egypt Suite (Airbnb no (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) and The Mexico Room (Airbnb no (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) , which are both located on the ground floor. These rooms are also en-suite. The Mexico Room is a Double room with an en-suite bathroom with bath and shower facilities. The Egypt Suite can be set up with either two extremely comfortable Single beds or one amazingly big Super King bed, and has an en-suite bathroom with a walk in shower facility, making this room perfect for guests with mobility difficulties. The Africa Suite is accessed via its own private entrance and staircase to the first floor. Our sunny Breakfast Room is accessed on the ground floor. We have a bench in the front garden where guests are welcome to sit and relax. We will be on hand to deal with any queries you may have prior to or during your stay. Please do not hesitate to contact us at any time. Flaxby is a quiet rural hamlet just 3 miles outside of Knaresborough. There is a fantastic food pub, The Tiger Inn, just a mile down the road that can be accessed either by foot or car, and many other similarly great hostelries just a short distance away. Knaresborough itself is a beautiful North Yorkshire market town, steeped in history with fascinating stories from the past. Cobbled paths and stone staircases lead down to the riverside, where you will find boats for hire, mini golf, beautiful walks and friendly, inviting cafes. There is a huge array of interesting places to visit - Knaresborough Castle, the Old Courthouse Museum, the infamous Mother Shipton's Cave, and the Chapel of our Lady of the Crag, to name just a few. The town has a number of interesting, individual shops to pull at your purse strings, not to mention an array of friendly, inviting tea rooms and pubs to tempt your tummy! The beautiful spa town of Harrogate is just a few miles away, accessible by road, rail or bus, where the infamous Betty's Tea Rooms awaits you. The equally beautiful city of York is almost as near, as are the charming Yorkshire market towns of Wetherby, Ripon and Boroughbridge. There are a number of beautiful walks around the local area, and the Yorkshire Dales are easily accessed, where some of the best walks in England can be discovered.
