The quiet village of Ampfield is set on the edge of the New Forest, 4 miles from the Market Town of Romsey. The Annex is a newly built self contained apartment equipped with a small kitchen containing an oven with electric hob, microwave and fridge. French windows offer beautiful, rural views over the local competition standard golf course. 4K Home Cinema system/Amazon Prime - extensive Blu-Ray collection available for free guess use - subject to availability. The Annex is upstairs, regrettably with no disabled access. We provide free, off road parking. We welcome guests from anywhere in the world and want our hospitality to feel like home from home. Owners live on site, we are available to make your stay as pleasant as possible. Although small and rural, Ampfield boasts a public house, restaurant, hotel and golf course, all within walking distance. Across the road from us is The Old Vicarage, birthplace of Reverend W Awdrey OBE, author of Thomas The Tank Engine. Ampfield wood, covering a 1000 sq mile area was sited by John Keble - founder of St Marks Church as 'his Cathedral' It is a beautiful place for walking. The property is situated 8 mins from the M3 for convenient access from/to London and the West Country. By train, London is just over one hour away from Winchester railway station. A public bus service runs regularly between Romsey and Winchester cities. The bus stop is situated at the top of our drive. The world famous Winchester Cathedral is just 7 miles to the north. The Sir Harold Hillier Gardens are just over a mile away situated in the village. Romsey is home to a Norman Abbey, Broadlands and the River Test. Paultons Park is proud to be home to Peppa Pig world - this is 8 miles to the south. Portsmouth, with it's Naval Dockyard, houses both the magnificent HMS Victory - Admiral Nelson's Flagship and The Mary Rose Tudor warship to King Henry VIII. Salisbury with it's magnificent cathedral boasting the tallest spire in the UK, Pre-historic Stonehenge and the beautiful New Forest National Park are all less than an hours drive from Ampfield.
