Mescal Canyon Retreat - Gold Room

Mescal Canyon Retreat is an off-grid, 20.5 acre property adjoining National Forest in Arizona's central high desert. Our property is in a beautiful natural setting, developed by us over the last 36 years. Please note a 5 night minimum and we are encouraging longer stays. We have adopted enhanced cleaning routines , therefore our cleaning fee has increased. Mescal Canyon Retreat is part of our 20.5 acre property, Candlewood, in the central high desert of Arizona. We are located in the middle of the Verde Valley wine county, 18 miles from Sedona. Our property consists of our Main House, the Casita (caretakers house), 2 separate B&B rooms in an adjacent stone building, our new Canyon Studio, a Massage Studio, a Dance and Workshop Studio and my Architectural Studio. The entire property is "off the grid"which means we produce all of our electricity from photo-voltaic panels. All of the buildings are built with GREEN and SUSTAINABLE materials. We have a large organic garden, a small flock of chickens and are maintaining a 100 vine vineyard. Our property is bound on 3 sides by National Forest and 1 side by private land. We are located at the end of the road at the mouth of Mescal Canyon. Mescal Canyon Retreat has two private B&B Rooms in a hand built stone building. The Gold Room has a private bath, king size bed and private patio with its own entrance from the outside. We installed mini splits in each room for efficient air conditioning and heating. The Retreat also offers the Sage Room, with a queen bed, and can be booked in addition to, or instead of, the Gold Room, if desired. This terrace is private with a wood burning fireplace and a wonderful view into the National Forest and Mingus Mountain. It is the best place on the property for star gazing. We have now completed our new Canyon Studio building, located adjacent to the BnB rooms. This is a community building with a full kitchen, eating and relaxing area. It is a hand built stone building with a fireplace and flagstone patio with a view up Mescal Canyon. This new building allows guests to prepare their own breakfasts, lunches and or dinners. It gives our guests to opportunity to relax and unwind without leaving the property. Guests have available to them delicious organic continental breakfasts each morning of their stay. We provide organic coffee and teas, homemade baked goods, fruit and cereals. Gourmet full breakfasts including eggs from our chickens, farm to table veggies, homemade baked goods, all organic and prepared by Shell our on site chef. Full breakfasts are additional costs. Please note that we request 5 night minimums and are encouraging longer stays. Mescal Canyon Retreat is centrally located in the Verde Valley Wine Country as well as close to Jerome and Sedona. We are 6 miles from the Verde Canyon Railroad and directly adjacent to National Forest for great hiking. Clarkdale and neighboring towns have wonderful native American archaeological sites and there is kayaking and tubing down the Verde River. Andrea is a licensed and insured Massage Therapist with 36 years experience. She offers integrated massages for guests if they would like to request an appointment. Massage pricing is $80/hour or $95/ one and a half hours. Massage fees are paid directly to Andrea. We are also proud to introduce our estate Caretaker Shell Closs. Shell is the On-Site Gourmet Chef and a Functional Personal Trainer. A native of the southwest with a strong customer service background and a deep desire to share her passion for health and wellness, Shell is available for additional meal catering and on-call adventure workouts at a sliding scale rate.
