Sunny, Quiet Private Room in Paradise
Le Ravinal was lovingly built for me by my youngest brother and was made with one thing in mind: to host family. Now that we have opened our third floor to host guests, we warmly welcome you not just into our home, but also into our family. Whatever you need, we are here to help you whether you’d like to schedule a tour of the island or figure out how to take the buses to Port Louis or to practice your French. We live in a small fishing village just outside the city of Port Louis. It is a residential neighborhood without any tourist attractions. We are an ideal location for: —> Business professionals and students needing to commute to Port Louis. (2 bus lines very nearby that will take you directly to Port Louis in 30 mins). —> Travelers who plan to rent a car or moped for the duration of their stay. (perfectly located for you to travel the island by car. Will take you 20 mins to get to the North and 45 mins to get to the South). —> Travelers who are unfamiliar with Mauritius and need a good starting point. If you are not planning on renting a car or moped, we are still a good option for you for the beginning of your stay. Plan to stay with us for the first few days of your trip where you can easily access the North of the island by bus and we will help orient you to the rest of the island. Once you feel that you have your bearings, you can consider booking another accommodation in the South so you can explore there as well. THE ROOMS The third floor of our home is made specifically to host our guests. It has four sun-drenched bedrooms all with distant views of the sea from private balconies as well as private bathrooms. The rooms all have double beds, a desk, a dresser, a TV, a safe, and WiFi access (though please note that during the rainy season the WiFi access in the bedrooms can be unstable but the WiFi in the common areas is always strong year around). THE COMMON SPACES The third floor has a shared kitchen that is well stocked with everything you may need for cooking: pots and pans, dishes and bowls, coffee mugs, a blender, a tea kettle, a rice cooker, a refrigerator, and more. Anything else you need that is not in the kitchen, just ask! The second floor of our home is where our family lives and where you will always be welcome to join us. Sit in our dining room or living room during the day to work or lounge in our wide, wrap-around balcony listening to the birds or watching the sunset. The first floor has a covered terrace, garden, and pool which are open to all guests. Lounge by the pool or sit on the terrace when you’d like some fresh air and sun. We are always available to answer any questions you have. You can call or text us through (Hidden by Airbnb) whenever you need us. MEALS You can choose to add breakfast and dinner for an additional fee. You have the option to take your meals in your room (the private balcony is a wonderful place to eat!) or you can join our family dinners at 6 p.m. Breakfast: 150 rupee/per day Dinner: 400 rupee/per day TRANSPORTATION Please let us know at least one week ahead of time if you’d like us to arrange for our driver, Lolo, to pick you up from the airport. He is very kind, friendly, and respectful and will happily assist you with your airport pick-up and any other transportation needs you may have. Airport pick-up costs 2,000 rupees. One bus line is across the street from the house and will take you directly to Port Louis. It runs every hour in the morning and several times in the afternoon to return to our home. A second bus line is a 10-minute walk from our house that will take you through our neighborhood. It's an easy walk through our beautiful neighborhood and very safe. The cost for these buses to go to Port Louis is about 27 rupees.
