The Manger has recently been extended to create a spacious property for five guests. The Manger was once a stable. Its original stalls, hay rack, troughs and loft have been retained and the necessary modern additions to create a luxury holiday cottage have been gently inserted. There are lime-washed walls and gentle lighting, along with the loft stair which allows an open aspect through to the apex of the roof. The terrace offers uninterrupted views down to the river and stretching several miles along and across the spectacular Yarty River valley with its pattern of small irregular fields and copses. Enveloped by accessible woodlands, apple orchards and farm fields, The Manger lies at the end of a long, shared drive, amidst hedge-lined winding lanes. Badgers, deer, rabbits, (40 species of moth were counted on a June evening) and various birds of prey are commonly seen. A weir pool with a salmon ladder lies along one of the many footpaths nearby and a bluebell wood is a short walk away. The Shippen sleeping four guests is also available to book at this location. This holiday cottage at a glance Sleeps five guests. Two double bedrooms, one with en-suite, one single bedroom and one family bathroom. Please be mindful of a single low truss on the upper floor. Children and infants welcome. Parents of small children should note that there is a pond within the grounds of the property. Ample parking. One well-behaved dog welcome (small additional charge). WiFi. Minimum of a two night stay. Additional features Thatched roof, lime washed stone walls and exposed beams. Green oak terrace leads to open field and valley views.
