Cosy chalet bungalow with beautiful garden & views
Set in beautiful Dorset countryside in the historic village of Yetminster The Annexe is an excellent base to explore the stunning countryside of Dorset & Somerset and the coastline of Dorset Well equipped accommodation with a comfortable sofa, full size kitchen, bathroom with walk-in shower and cosy upstairs bedroom with a double bed. Plenty of outside space to enjoy Just a few minutes walk away are the village shop, local pub (offering food & drink), and a cafe for lunch, coffee & cakes. Set tucked away in a peaceful village its a restful getaway to spoil yourself with. The ground floor is open plan with a kitchen diner, living area with a comfy sofa, and TV (with Netflix). The kitchen and dining area is well equipped with full sized cooker, microwave, fridge and lots of cooking equipment. In addition we have left a cool bag, ice packs, plates & cutlery that you can take out for a picnic. Gallery bedroom is upstairs with a beautiful view of the garden and our very old village church. The bathroom is on the ground floor with walk-in shower, sink and toilet. You have your own private garden with various seating options together with a table to enjoy those outside meals or just relax. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included together soap, shampoo & shower gel. Tea and coffee are provided and there is a selection of games, cards and books. Feel free to take a book home if you haven't finished it. The village pub and stores are just a few minutes walk away although you would never guess when sitting in the garden. Parking for one car is just outside your front door. An iron & board, washing machine & dryer are all available on request. You have a private front door to the chalet bungalow with parking close on the drive way. We have being busy this year making the garden an even better place to relax and unwind. There a patio just outside your front door which has a table & chairs under the Wisteria, perfect for breakfast, another table with chairs is set out in the garden or indulge yourself on the swinging chair with that book & glass of wine. There are raised vegetable beds further down the garden where hopefully there may be some fresh salad you can go and help yourself to. As we use the garden at the back it is yours so feel free to wander around the many flower beds and sniff the roses or just admire the view to the village church. For those history buffs amongst you I have left a book of the village as it was - take a wander around and you will find many building and images that you can still recognise today. We can help and advise on the local amenities, walks and attractions around north and west Dorset, Somerset and the Jurassic coast. There are maps for your use while here and a book of (hopefully) helpful tips and information. There are lots of places to explore within easy range - the Cerne Giant, the Jurassic Coast, Yeovilton Air Museum, Glastonbury Tor, Abbotsbury Swannary & Gardens and many National Trust properties, to name just a few. I always leave a pile of brochures & maps for you to go through. Although it’s a peaceful place we are only six miles away from historic abbey town of Sherborne (Sherton Abbas in Thomas Hardys books). If you fancy the beach then try Weymouth, Chesil (truly unique) or West Bay they are all within easy distance. Go a little further and you will find the stunning Studland Bay or busy Bournemouth. Don't fancy driving? There is request train station (always a novelty!) which can take you down to the coast at Weymouth or up to Bristol. The village itself has a pub (which has just been awarded Best Pub in West Dorset for real ale), village convenience store, Gallery tea shop and a station. There are lots of country walks surrounding it and the lovely Vecklands Woods. Don't fancy any of that? So relax in the garden or take a wander round the village. Yetminster was recorded in the Doomsday Book and has a conservation area full of beautiful stone buildings to admire. Railway station is just 5 - 10 minutes walk away Parking for 1 car available on the drive any additional cars can be parked on the road With the current situation we will be doing everything we can to make your visit as safe as possible. Hand Sanitiser and anti bac will be provided and I will be wiping down hard surfaces with antibacterial spray prior to your arrival on top our our usual cleaning procedures.
