The Bach, Golden Bay Lodge
The Bach is fully self-contained, modern, and comfortable, with a romantic log burner for those chilly evenings. A short stroll across the lawn brings you to a cliff top overlooking beautiful Golden Bay, with a grassy path down to clean, safe Tukurua beach. The gardens were first laid out in 1978 with the planting of 1500 rhododendrons, later were added camellias and hostas. The present owners are committed to organic management and have added orchards of fruiting trees, vegetables and herbs with flowering shrubs, native, exotic & subtropical and restored the native bush areas. Guests are free to wander & explore the gardens as they wish, there is a hot spa available for use anytime with a fantastic view but please shower off any sand before hand and treat the place with the respect that it deserves. Theres a dry wood box at the back of the bach with extra kindling and logs if needed. The neighbourhood is a quiet private seaside subdivision. The view extends across the whole bay from Farewell Spit to Abel Tasman.
