Romantic Napoleonic cottage for 2 with pool

Charming one bed cottage, retaining many of it's original features in the Poitou-Charente region with it's sunny climate, famous for it's fields of sunflowers. Decorated in vintage style, it has a private decked area, perfect for outside dining and BBQs. Set at the corner of our large meadow, next to the pool and gardens, an excellent place to watch the sun go down on a balmy evening. The area is excellent for cycling, fishing and canoeing. We look forward to giving you a warm welcome. A secluded, restful space to rejuvenate the soul, whether soaking up the sun on your private decked area or looking up at the starriest of skies, it is a little piece of heaven. Situated halfway between Poitiers and Angouleme, and just 5 minutes from our local market town of Civray, La Petite Maison is in an ideal location for exploring the Vienne and Charente regions. Bordeaux, Cognac and La Rochelle all within easy reach if you want a day out. Our guests at La Petite Maison have access to our large pool and gardens. We live on site and are very happy to help with any queries or advice on local amenities. Although we have a rural setting, surrounded by fields, we are just a 5 minute drive from the nearest shops and the market town of Civray which has wonderful farmer's markets on Tuesday and Friday mornings. There are two top quality boulangerie here too as well as cafes and restaurants and even a quaint cinema showing the latest films in French and English. Excellent canoeing is available throughout the area along the mighty Charente river, choose from a couple of hours to a whole day or follow one of the many hiking and biking trails in the beautiful countryside. Parking is available on site. The nearest train station is 10 minutes by car at St Saviol. High speed train links to Paris and Bordeaux from Poitiers. Pets are welcome by prior arrangement only. There is a maximum of two pets per gite. Please note that we have rules in place to ensure a happy and safe holiday for all. Dogs should not be left unattended in the gite for any length of time. Dogs need to be on a lead at ALL times in the shared areas and are not allowed in the pool area. We ask that you clean up after your dog and respect our home. A charge of €6 per day (€40 per week) will be applied by Airbnb to the booking after confirmation.
