Welcome to your fully furnished apartment which is part of a farmhouse 2 km from Bellenaves, in the beautiful hamlet of Chassat. The gite apartment is on the first floor (up stairs) and is renovated barn space. Fully furnished, with kitchen, it has its own entrance next to gravel parking area. Beautiful views of the surrounding area. Very quiet and peaceful year round. Perfect for cycling, hiking, painting, writing, relaxation. Secure bike storage. Surrounding Area: Less than one hour drive north of Clermont-Ferrand, we are situated in a unique area which is zoned agricultural, therefore no houses can be built nearby. Our old farmhouse has been completely renovated - the attached gite has been created from the former barn. Lovely views of the valley below, the forest, fields & garden. Hiking & mountain biking trails, great small roads for cycling! Ancient city of Charroux with shops, restaurants, hiking, history very close. We can advise you on many loop bike rides from 10-70 k, as well as places to rent a canoe or maybe go horseback riding. Outside Amenities: Large garden area, covered terrace, 360 view of surrounding area. Great for star gazing! BBQ and gas cooker available + large picnic table with benches. Your gite has its own parking area and private entrance with secure bike storage. We live in the attached house and are available to answer any questions you may have about tourism in the area. Lots of maps and info about both road riding and VTT / mountain biking. Electric bike rental available in the village. The gite is 2 km from the village of Bellenaves, where there is a very helpful tourist office, small grocery store, post office, café/bar, sewing & fabric repair shop, 2 bakeries, 2 hair salons, pharmacy, florist shop, charcuterie/deli, car wash. Outdoor village market day every Wednesday morning in the center. We are next to the Foret des Colettes which has trails for hiking and easy VTT biking. Short drive or bike ride (10 km) to Servant where there is a small lake area for fishing & swimming +a cafe with terrace. It's best to have a car, or at least a bicycle to get around. The Bellenaves train station is 1 km, just down the hill - fun for a day trip to Montlucon, Vichy, Clermont-Ferrand & more. If you are backpacking or just traveling light by train, we are happy to come pick you up at the train station in Bellenaves. You can also go with your bike on the train and ride back - many options!
