Jacks Nook is a real hideaway for two people. This traditional Lakeland Slate built terraced cottage is situated below Church Bank cottage and provides an excellent bolt-hole to escape from the world. Accommodation comprises of a double bedroom, lounge / dining area, kitchen and bathroom. At the front of the ground floor cottage, French windows open onto a small paved area set high above the main village. It’s cosy, it has character, and is in an excellent location. On street parking available around the village, On a first come first served basis unless stated otherwise. I may not be available in person however there is an office situated in the neighbouring village of Elterwater Where our staff will be on hand to help with any enquiries or requests you may have. The heart of the village is just a short stroll away. In the village you can find the well stocked local convenience store -the Langdale Coop, Brambles Cafe, and the Village Church – The Great Langdale Holy Trinity, and The Wainwrights Inn which sells local brewed ales and provides good homemade food. The famous climbers inn The Old Dungeon Ghyll, New Dungeon Ghyll Hotel, and Stickle Barn Tavern (now owned by the National Trust) are just up the Langdale Valley. Jacks Nook is a good base to explore the many activities in the local area with some of the best scenery and walking right on the doorstep. The property is not far from a main bus route. Elterwater, the famous Britannia Inn and Elterwater Cafe are a short stroll away, with a fabulous walk along the river. The cottage is also handily placed to access the Langdale Valley, 4 miles from Ambleside and close to neighbouring villages of Grasmere and Hawkshead.
