Cute cottage between Bristol and Bath
Our cute little cottage is available in north Bristol. Ideally located for visiting Bristol and Bath. The cottage has undergone a large renovation. The living room has a wonderful floor to ceiling fireplace with wood burner. Perfect for cosy evenings in. The kitchen is modern and fitted with a small table and chairs for breakfast. The upper floor has two bedrooms, and a Jack and Jill bathroom. The bathroom has bath, separate shower wc etc. This little railway workers cottage was constructed in the 1830’s for the Employees of the Bristol to Bath railway. It was constructed using recycled stones from the discarded buildings around it. In generations past the cottage would sell tickets for the steam railway which is adjacent to the cottage. This cottage is the only one in its location to keep its original and quite unusual stairs. The cottage has been sympathetically restored and is light and bright keeping a wealth of unusual features and quirks. It’s a truly warm and comfortable little home. The location is semi rural and offers great links to central Bristol and Bath. The Avon valley railway is a short stroll away. And the Bristol to Bath cycle path is just metres away. There are local walking routes including the golden valley way which can be enjoyed by humans and doggy friends. Incidentally we do welcome dogs. Of course you treat the place like it’s your own : ) Generally I’ll pop by to pass you the keys and then I’ll leave you to make yourself at home. Alternatively we may arrange for the keys to be waiting in a secure box. The local area is semi rural and pretty quiet. With a few local shops, a good pub and fantastic chip shop. Just a few miles away are the buzzing and historic cities of Bristol and Bath. They can both be reached easily via a car or via the cycle path should you want to cycle. Parking is on North Street (the main street). Just make sure you avoid the yellow lines as the local council do enforce these parking restrictions with mobile cameras. There are great bus links to Bath and Bristol just outside of the house on North street. Alternatively there is the cycle path with direct routes to Bristol and Bath. Nothing I can think of at present.
