The Dairy - Stylish Barn Conversion Sleeps 2
The Dairy is a lovingly converted barn set in a gorgeous courtyard setting. We have kept the original beams and furnished with antiques sourced at local auction houses. It is an extremely roomy conversion as it can also be rented as a 4 bed. The extremely comfortable king size bed has an ensuite shower, with power and rainfall shower. There is plenty of outside space and you are welcome to borrow bicycles to explore the local area, there is also a tennis court you are welcome to use. The Dairy shares the pretty courtyard with The Potting Shed. We live across the courtyard in the main farmhouse and are on hand should you have any questions. The kitchen is extremely well equipped with dishwasher, induction hob and fan oven, having rented many holiday homes I hope I have provided everything you may need to make your stay a enjoyable as possible. There is a wood burning stove perfect for cosy nights in and a Smart TV with Bluetooth soundbar. A travel cot is available please ask. The local area has much to offer. Numerous Artisan courses run in the local area including stone carving, blacksmith, cheese making, wood working and pottery - please enquire if you would like more details. The Jurassic Coast is only 45mins away with wonderful coastal walks whatever the time of year. Bridport Market every Saturday with a large antique centre make a good stop off en route to the coast. Lyme Regis and Weymouth are also well worth a visit. River Cottage the home of Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall runs two excellent festivals in on the May & August Bank Holidays. The Avalon Marshes famous for the Starling murmurations are on our doorstep with Glastonbury and its famous Tor and beautiful Wells with its stunning Bishops Palace just a little further. There are numerous NT properties nearby, Montacute, Barrington Court, Muchelney Abbey, Tintinhull Gardens, Lytes Cary and Stourhead. Kilver Court Designer Village, Mulberry Factory Shop and Clark’s Village for those wishing to shop and we are 1hr away from Bath. There are numerous excellent pubs and restaurants many award winners, if you wish to eat out. However we are very well served with many independent shops in the local villages, for example within 10mins there is an award winner farm shop and cafe as well as a butcher, baker, deli and greengrocer. Well behaved dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. We have an all weather tennis court which you are welcome to use please just ask, we also have bicycles you may borrow to explore the local area if you would like. Directly outside The Dairy is a large courtyard with table and chairs and gas BBQ for outside dining. We live across the courtyard in the farmhouse so are always available if you need anything to help you enjoy your stay. Coat is a beautiful conservation village which is situated just 3 miles from the A303. Somerset is a wonderful county with glorious unspoilt countryside, numerous National Trust properties, great walking, excellent pubs and restaurants, and many local artisan courses. The local area is known for its cider orchards and there are two cider distilleries within 5 miles of us, Somerset Cider Brandy - (Website hidden by Airbnb) and Harry’s - (Website hidden by Airbnb) There are lots of good local pubs/restaurants some of which I have listed below. Stourhead Gardens is 25 mins away. Mapperton House and Gardens is 30 mins away as is Hestercombe Gardens The Jurassic Coast, Lyme Regis and Bridport are approximately 45mins away. Bridport has an excellent Saturday market. Frome has a wonderful brocante/artisan food market on the first Sunday of each month. Wells has a great Saturday market and the Bishops Palace Gardens are lovely. The village of Martock (1.5 miles) has an excellent butchers, farm shop, bakers together with a Co-op for essentials and a post office. It has a good Farmers market on the second Saturday of each month. There is also a Doctors Surgery and Dentists. South Petherton (3.5 miles) is a charming village, with butcher, baker, greengrocer, wine merchant and cafe, several good gift shop, Co-op and an excellent restaurant - Holm. The Trading Post - (Website hidden by Airbnb) - in Lopenhead (5 miles) is an award winning Farm Shop and Deli with Cafe as well, definitely worth a visit. Further afield Langport, Crewkerne, Yeovil and Sherborne have a large selection of shops and supermarkets. A car is recommended for getting around the local area. Yeovil Junction and Castle Cary are the nearest stations both of which have taxis to bring you here. The is ample private parking for you here.
