Self-contained double and twin bedroomed accommodation with lounge and well-equipped kitchen. One of a small collection of barn cottages in a rural setting, with grounds and paddock to enjoy. Next to Hunter's Moon pub/restaurant. Explore the delights of Dorset's Jurassic coast and Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty landscapes. Near to the historic abbey town of Sherborne, Hardy's Dorchester and quaint Cerne Abbas with its famous Cerne Giant. Dog friendly. A lovely ambience with friendly owners. The 2 acre paddock with large pond; indoor bbq hut (bookable for a small fee to cover coals and cleaning); recreation room with table football, books, dvds, maps, Dorset tourist leaflets; table tennis; laundry room and extra freezer space. Feed and play with the rabbits (parents take care of little ones) and Audrey will show you where the chickens live and lay eggs. Only restrictions the garden at the front of our house and the back garden behind apart from the path leading to our main door for us to help you with enquiries etc. Your choice entirely. Previous guests have become friend returners (currently 35% of our guests are returners) but we are sensitive to giving guests the opportunity to enjoy the calm of the countryside and getaway from people, including us! We are usually on hand to assist with any help you may require. An area of Outstanding Beauty. Great local walks, dog-friendly Hunter’s Moon pub next door, Minterne Magna with its Himalayan hut and gardens that were featured in the Times to 10 gardens, Cerne Abbas Giant (ancient chalk drawing on hillside) and village with picturesque houses, Weymouth and other coastal towns and beaches (Jurassic coast is a world heritage site). Lovely local towns of Sherborne (full of independent shops and tea shops) and Hardy’s Dorchester. Local food - meat, cheese and a whole host of artisan foods available at the village shop in Cerne Abbas which is open 8am-6pm every day including Sunday apart from Christmas Day. All major supermarkets in either local Sherborne or Dorchester. We are in a rural setting with limited bus service so a car is needed. Parking near the cottage with extra parking available for additional vehicles. WiFi available but please do not adjust or turn off routers. If you have a problem with WiFi just ask for our help.
