The Arns Cottage has been beautifully converted from a traditional stone built stables into a cosy, luxurious retreat. Located within the gardens of the main house and accessible down a farm track, the cottage is surrounded by the stunning Perthshire Hills. It is in a perfectly central location for exploring Scotland - 15 mins from Perth and an hour's drive from Edinburgh, Glasgow and St Andrews, 2 miles from Auchterarder and only 4 miles from the world famous Gleneagles Hotel. Sorry no pets! The Arns Cottage has been lovingly restored to a very high standard with lots of luxurious finishes. It has underfloor heating throughout the ground floor, a well-stocked open fire, luxuriously crisp Egyptian cotton bed linen, a stash of traditional games and of course a generous welcome pack of goodies. Our own homemade jam/marmalade, bread, some free range eggs and a chilled bottle of wine to name but a few. You have your own terrace to enjoy at the cottage and we have a small astro pitch for our children which you are welcome to use for football if your kids are keen! Please note that the cottage and terrace is not fully gated, therefore you will have to keep an eye on young toddlers if they are wandering free as there is the farm access road near by. The host family live in the main house and will introduce themselves on your arrival and answer any questions you might have as well as give some helpful advise for your stay. You will have their mobile number for the duration of your stay. There is also an office next door to the cottage where someone will be available 9-5pm during week days. Once you exit the main road to Auchterader, The Arns Cottage is accessed half a mile down a farm track. Therefore, a vehicle is highly recommended for your stay, although not a complete necessity, as the town of Auchterader is only a half hour's walk away. There's an abundance of fun things to do with kids in the area which range from a safari park, outdoor adventure playgrounds and indoor soft play to ceramic painting and AMF bowling. And for those that love the great outdoors, there's lots of fabulous walks. The five star, world famous Gleneagles Hotel is only 4 miles from the cottage and has a championship 18 and 9 hole golf course, an equestrian centre, clay pigeon shooting, tennis courts, archery, a luxurious health Club and a beautiful and sumptuous SPA. There is also the famous House of Bruar shop (1 hr's drive away) which sits like a castle at the foot of the spectacular Bruar Falls (also a good walk), and is widely acknowledged as Scotland's most prestigious independent store. Definitely the place to go for your cashmere! Within 20 mins drive you have Glen Turret Distillery (home of the Famous Grouse malt) in Crieff, Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument in Stirling and Scone Palace in Perth. Golfers are spoilt for choice with championship courses at Gleneagles Hotel and The Old Course Hotel in St Andrews, along with local courses in Auchterarder, Crieff and Dunblane. We do live in a rural location accessed by a farm track so it's not very appropriate for precious sports cars but it's not necessary to have a 4XD.
