Cotswolds Glamping - Shepherd's Hut

This is a traditional shepherd’s hut found locally and restored in true Arts and Crafts style in 2006. It is the perfect haven of peace and quiet, surrounded by beautiful countryside The shepherd who used it during the lambing season still lives nearby. Our cosy renovated Cotswold shepherd's hut is surrounded by nothing but fields and wildlife. No road noise - perfect peace .... located in the heart of the countryside but close to the beautiful local village of Cherington and the historic market town of Tetbury. We are 12 miles from Cirencester, the Capital of the Cotswolds. The shepherd's hut is in a paddock very near the main house , with a small but cosy 4 foot wide double bed, a small stove and candles for overnight illumination - plus electricity for a bedside light and a small fan heater for chilly mornings. Guests have exclusive use of their own private eco loo and bush shower with towels and soap provided . Continental breakfast with fresh fruit will be delivered to your hut around 8.30 am. Guests are free to enjoy our garden and paddock. There is a good 4G signal in the shepherd's hut and vintage country books for happy isolation! Guests have their own bush shower and eco toilet. Towels are provided. There is a shared bush kitchen very close by with barbecue and fridge. Luna our very friendly cat may visit you but Barley, her brother, is too timid to say hello! We are always pleased to help our guests enjoy their stay, just let us know if there is anything we can do! Tetbury is about 5 minutes away and other towns including Cirencester, Cheltenham, Bath and Bristol are all within easy driving distance. The nearest train station is Kemble which is served from London Paddington in 75 minutes. Owing to the fairly remote location of the property we would recommend using a car unless you plan to walk or stay put throughout your stay. We can recommend plenty of local walking routes, pubs, restaurants and areas of historic interest. Activities which can be accessed from the property include walks and concerts at Westonbirt Arboretum, polo at the Beaufort Polo Club and Cirencester Polo Club, flying at Kemble Airfield, watersports at the Cotswold Water Park, National Hunt racing at Cheltenham and Bath, motorsport at Castle Combe and wildlife at the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Longleat. Kemble station is 7 miles away. Taxis available - we recommend booking with "The Pink Cab Company" , or "Express Taxis" . We do provide barbecue equipment in our bush kitchen but please bring extra camping accessories if you are planning to dine under the stars. We can always help if there is anything you might need! We will deliver warmed croissants and fresh fruits to your hut in the morning. Tea and coffee, milk and butter are provided in the bush kitchen.
