Titanic's coachman's lodge, set in serene gardens

Luxurious, peaceful, cozy; this two bedroom cottage is set in 1/3 acre land. The property benefits from a stunning garden, decking/BBQ area and sumptuous modern interior, heated flooring and Jacuzzi bath. For entertainment, there's a Bose surround system, Apple TV, Smart TV (with Netflix etc). A short walk to the beach and direct access to the country parks, the cottage makes for a blissful retreat. If wishing to bring a dog, please enquire before booking. Our home was renovated to the highest standard in 2010 to a luxury home. The house has vaulted ceilings, cozy and well appointed bedrooms and an outdoor space that will capture your imagination. The beds are both really comfortable, orthopaedic beds with sumptuous duck down duvets and a selection of pillows. All beds (including comforters) are washed after every stay. N.b. The tv in the bathroom hasn’t worked since HDMI was invented. The cottage is highly economical, sourcing 100% of its energy from renewable sources. I'll be available on the phone and either I or a neighbour/housekeeper will be available throughout your stay. Set in the coachman's house to the Ismay Family (Builders of the titanic) the property still shows signs of its heritage; the carved sandstone staircase being just one. Thomas Ismay is buried in the church in the village. Church Farm is within a two minute walk and offers fresh farm produce and a quaint cafe. We encourage you to explore the surroundings, the loop around to the 'dungeon', down to the beach and back up by the sailing club is astoundingly beautiful. If you want to venture further, continue down the beach towards West Kirby and out to Hilbre Island (check tide times!) to see seals and a terrain unlike any other. It's a blissful retreat. Trains from West Kirby will take you into Liverpool or Chester. Buses run from the top of the road. About West Warren Lodge Set in the coachman’s house to the Ismay Family (Builders of the titanic) the cottage still shows signs of its heritage; the carved sandstone staircase to the left of the cottage staircase being just one. Trains from West Kirby will take you into Liverpool or Chester. Buses run from the top of the road. About the Wirral The Wirral is a peninsula bounded to the west by the River Dee – overlooking Wales, to the east by River Mersey and to the north by the Irish Sea. The earliest evidence of human occupation of the Wirral dates from the Mesolithic period, around 7000 BC. Before the time of the Romans, the Wirral was inhabited by a Celtic tribe. After Roman and Anglo-Saxon occupation, towards the end of the 9th century, the Vikings began raiding the area and settled alongside the Dee side of the peninsula. Nearby Attractions Running/Walking – Wirral Country Park, where there are 12 miles of walking and cycling tracks along a former railway line and the beach, is just down the road. Go straight out the drive down Station Road to the water and follow signs for the Country Park. Alternatively, walk or climb up Thor's stone, a large sandstone outcrop and a place of a romantic legend, in Thurstaston. Groceries – Walk to Church Farm, a family run farm, for basic groceries and coffee by making a left out of the drive and walk up the hill via Church Lane. The farm will be on your right. (Postcode: CH48 0RD, Tel: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) Restaurants – There are a number of restaurants in Heswall on A540. Burnt Truffle (Postcode: CH60 0AQ, Tel: (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN)) is fabulous as is Karma (Indian restaurant) in West Kirby ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN) Sightseeing – Visit Hilbre Island, off the coast of West Kirby, to see the inquisitive seal colony. Liverpool and Chester are both nearby and plenty of information can be sought from the internet. Sunsets – Watch the sunset at Sheldrake’s, a tucked away restaurant offering spectacular views of the River Dee and the Welsh mountains.
