Charming detached cottage & garden in the grounds of a 14th century Manor house, converted in 2018 to provide comfortable, modern, character accommodation. Situated in the village of Sutton Veny (Wylye Valley), the property offers a peaceful retreat close to the beautiful cities of Bath and Salisbury and Stonehenge, Stourhead & Longleat. The nearest town, Warminster (3 miles), has supermarkets, train station, shops & restaurants. Excellent Village pub 10 mins walk. Country walks from cottage. The former stables have been completely refurbished to provide comfortable, character accommodation with modern amenities. The situation is very peaceful and the surrounding countryside is full of wonderful wildlife. It is a perfect holiday home for families or keen walkers. The village of Sutton Veny is very attractive and welcoming and just 3 miles from Warminster which has Lidl, Morrisons and Waitrose supermarkets, Boots and WH Smiths, plenty of take away options and a railway station. New for 2021 - Play room: children's play room with bean bag, cushions, small child's table and chairs, books and games. Utility room: washing machine and tumble dryer, coat hooks. Downstairs loo. Our cleaners will be using a high grade disinfectant on all areas. This will include door handles, light switches, tv remotes, key safe box etc., Soap and Cleaning materials will be left at the property for guests to use together with a leaflet for the guests attention, to hopefully ease any worries you may have. Available for questions by telephone/ email or in person The cottage is situated in Sutton Veny, in the beautiful grounds of the 14th century Manor House and is approached down a long tree lined driveway. The village has a church, school and playing field with park . Sutton Veny is situated in the picturesque Wylye Valley and there are many good walks in the area (some directly from the cottage) including the Macmillan Way and The Ridgeway. Warminster is 3 miles from the cottage and offers supermarkets, shops, chemist, cafes, restaurants and a mainline railway station. The beautiful cities of Salisbury and Bath are both 20 miles from the house, Longleat is ten minutes drive and Stourhead & Stonehenge are both 15 minutes drive. There are several excellent pubs in surrounding villages offering different food options and a wealth of take always in Warminster including - Chinese, Indian, Thai, fish and chips and Dominos pizza. Several will deliver to the cottage. There is an Odeon cinema complex in Trowbridge (20 minutes drive) as well as in Salisbury and Bath. The Manor House is set in 30 acres of grounds and we keep a small herd of pedigree cattle (Ruby Red Devons) and chickens. We live in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with numerous interesting walks and an abundance of historic sites and tourist attractions to visit, the most famous being: Stonehenge Longleat House and Safari Park Stourhead house and Gardens Wilton House gardens and grounds Avebury stone circle The Georgian city of Bath with Roman Baths, Bath Spa, Royal Victoria Park with adventure playgrounds, mini golf, par 3 course, tennis etc, museums, excellent shopping, multi screen cinema, and restaurants. The City of Salisbury with famous cathedral, museums, cinema, shopping and restaurants. Parking on drive. Warminster railways station 3 miles away. Bus from end of drive to Warminster and Salisbury. The cottage has appropriate fire and safety equipment including smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, fire extinguisher and blanket. The oil fired Boiler was fitted in October 2017 and serviced every year. The garden is enclosed from the road but our drive does run to the side of it so young children should be supervised. Bed linen, bath towels, toiletries, washing powder and fairy liquid are provided. Kitchen basics such as coffee, tea, sauces, herbs, oil etc are also kept at the house for the guests use. Babysitting with experienced nanny can be organised for £10 per hour with prior notice. High chair. Cot with mattress (new 2020), Hairdryer. Microwave. Plenty of parking.
