La Vieille Porcherie - Beautiful French Gîte
La Vieille Porcherie is a typical French self-contained gîte dating back to the 17th Century. The gite is situated in a quiet hamlet between Cussac and Oradour-sur-Vayres. The surrounding countryside is beautiful with numerous swimming lakes in the vicinity, wonderful walks and fabulous roads for cycling. The gite is very old with lots of character. The space is perfect for complete escapism or to use as a base to explore the surrounding French countryside. The house is located in the beautiful Haute Vienne, close to the borders with the Dordogne and Charente, and is within the 'Parc Naturel Limousin Perigord'. As well as private use of the whole gite, guests will be able to access the large garden, the sun loungers and the patio area directly in front of the gite front door which has table and chairs for al fresco dining, sun-loungers and a patio sofa set. We are happy to accept children at ‘La Vieille Porcherie’ however, children under 14 are the responsibility of their parents/guardians and must be supervised at all times. If you need any recommendations during your stay both Phil and myself are here to help. We can offer breakfast at a price of €15 per person to include, fresh juice, coffee, tea, cereals, fresh croissants, bread, fruit, yoghurt, jams, an array of charcuterie and eggs. Breakfast is payable onsite. The neighbourhood is very quiet, but situated between two small towns, both with bars, restaurants and supermarkets. If the sofa bed in the lounge is required when there are only two people using the Gite, there is an additional charge of €25 euros paid locally due to Airbnb’s pricing structure, there is nowhere to charge for the making up and laundry of the sofa bed, if the booking is for only two people. Another thing to note, we have pet dogs and two gorgeous cats that are round and about the garden and grounds. They are all very friendly and love a cuddle.
