Bellevue Gite

Situated in the heart of Vienne Bellevue Gite is the ideal getaway whether you’re looking simply to relax or for something a little more active to do on your holiday. The gite’s rural location with river access is ideal for those who enjoy nature, walking, fishing, cycling, canoeing whilst also being close to many local tourist attractions. For example it is just a 10 minute drive to La Vallee de Singes and Futuroscope is only 40 minutes away. The gite is attached to a maison de maitre and has its own entrance drive and gardens with access to field and river. It sleeps 6 people, with a travel cot being available on request. Wifi is free and linen and towels are provided. Downstairs the gite is open plan with well-equipped kitchen, dining, snug and lounge areas. There is a log burner should the evenings ever turn chilly. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms. Bedroom 1 is a double with a day bed and shares a Jack and Jill ensuite with bedroom 2, which has a double bunk bed. Bedroom 3 is a double with ensuite. Outside the enclosed gardens enjoy views of the river and surrounding countryside. The front garden is laid to both lawn and gravel, providing ample parking for 2 or 3 cars, and is a suntrap from mid-morning to late afternoon. To the side of the gite you’ll find a lawn surrounded by flower borders with garden table, chairs and BBQ from which you can soak-up the evening sun. There is a secure outbuilding, which houses a freezer and washing machine, and is suitable for bike storage. Sun loungers, rotary drier and outside tap also available. Guests can access the field and river from a path to the side of the gite. A gate to the path ensures little ones can't set off on an adventure without an adult in tow. From mid-July, following hay time, the field is cut to create an area perfect for outdoor games such as football, badminton or rounders. A goal post goes up as soon as the hay is in. The commune of Sommieres-du-Clain has a restaurant, café-tabac, pharmacy, bakers, hairdressers and grocers, perfect for day to day holiday needs, with the nearest supermarkets being just 11km or 16km away in the historic market towns of Gencay and Civray respectively. There are many local tourist attractions such as Futuroscope, La Vallee des Singes, Les Geants du Ciel, Le Parc de la Belle, Les Bois de Saint-Pierre, Parc de Saint-Cyr to name but a few.
