Fancy a short break in the heart of the Highlands? In the lovely village of Nethy Bridge this private suite is a peaceful haven offering a comfortable twin or superking bedroom, bathroom with shower over, sitting room, and a bright lobby; space to prepare tea and coffee. Note we do not serve breakfast. Walk from the doorstep to explore the Abernethy forest, the Speyside Way, Loch Garten and more. Watch red squirrels scamper round the aspen trees and stroll to the river at the foot of the garden. We are delighted to advise we are now able to offer the choice of twin beds or the beds can be zipped together and made up as a superking. **Please advise us by message when you book which you would prefer, as unfortunately this cannot be amended on your arrival. The whole suite benefits from underfloor heating as well as having a heated towel rail in the bathroom. Each room has an individual thermostat so a warm sitting room and cool bedroom is possible, or whatever your preference. Guests should please note we do not serve breakfast, but our local café serves breakfast as well as being a great venue for lunch. There is a fridge, kettle and microwave, and we provide a complimentary fruit bowl, tea and coffee, fresh milk and cereals, so a light breakfast can easily be prepared. Do please note there is no kitchen. Practically on the doorstep, our local Spar and Post Office is well stocked and sells excellent croissants and morning rolls! The sitting room, with tv and wifi, is a cosy space to plan your next day's activities, and there is a desk in case you can't leave work behind! Host will greet guests on arrival, or self check in if preferred. Our garden is available to explore, but please respect our private space next to the house at the back. The suite is part of our home, used by our family and friends, a door separating it from our accommodation, locked when required. We are onsite most of the time, but your privacy will be respected. If we are out and about enjoying the area ourselves, we are always available via mobile. Our guest folder/house manual will answer most of your questions, and we would love to share our personal experience and knowledge of the area. Situated in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, Nethy Bridge features many points of interest; The Abernethy Forest, the Old Kirk, Castle Roy, the River Spey, the challenging Abernethy 9 hole Golf course, and there is tennis, bowls, fishing all available. Both skiing on Cairngorm or the Lecht in the winter are only 30 - 40 minutes drive. Home to BBC Winterwatch, Springwatch and Autumnwatch 2019, the area is a birdwatchers paradise and abounds with the wildlife of the Highlands. The quiet roads & tracks are ideal for walking & cycling, and the village is less than an hour from Inverness and the Moray coast. We are on the path of the Speyside Way too. The Whisky Trail is another attraction, and a day trip to the west coast is an easy option for guests who wish to venture further afield. Refresh yourself at our local Nethy House café, or the Nethybridge Hotel. Aviemore, Carrbridge, Boat of Garten and Grantown on Spey provide a plentiful variety of shops, cafes and restaurants, all within 10 miles. Nethy Bridge is well served by local buses to Boat of Garten, Aviemore, Grantown on Spey and there is a daily service to Inverness. Inverness airport is a 45 minute drive and the Aviemore rail station is served by the Kings Cross to Inverness train. The Speyside Way runs through Nethy Bridge, right past our driveway and of course the whole area is a walkers paradise offering good tracks, forest walks, lochs, and the nearby Cairngorm mountains. Guests should please note there is no kitchen nor washing up facility in the suite, and we do not serve breakfast; a kettle is provided for tea, coffee etc. and there is a fridge and microwave. We do supply crockery & cutlery which, if used, may be left in the crate in the hall cupboard for us to collect after your departure, or on request.
