Shortwood Barn, Litton, Contemporary Rural Idyll

Shortwood Barn is a contemporary barn conversion in the Mendip Hills, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty...wonderfully situated in the rural triangle of Bath, Bristol, and Wells so there's plenty to do and see.....or just kick back and enjoy the scenery It's the perfect place for groups and families to have fun and relax in the open plan space whilst enjoying the quiet and secluded rural environment. The location is special. It offers rural seclusion with easy access into lively and historical cities. Litton itself is a small village with a great pub and there are a number of pleasant walks to neighbouring pubs and villages, either across fields or near-deserted country lanes. There are a number of fine dining options locally though the barn comes with a modern, well equipped kitchen and its own herb garden and vegetable patch for the keen chef. Whole house and garden. Gardens open directly open to Shortwood Common which has a number of footpaths leading to a number of pleasant walks. The common is a great space to let kids run free and at the top of the common is a lovely view of the valley One of us (Sarah or Justin) tries to be on hand to welcome guests to briefly explain how 'stuff' works and answer any questions that wasn't answered through their own site. Due to Covid19, we now only welcome guests who want that....everything a guest would need to know is on a welcome note we leave or on our website One thing to make clear, covid19 has greatly increased our cleaning times so we've had to change our generous check in and out times to a regime that allows for detailed cleaning. However, if there is a gap before you or after we would welcome to arrive earlier or leave later...please ask we'll oblige if we can There is also a dropbox with access to front door key. The code is shared shortly before arrival We live in the neighbouring property so are usually around to help in any way required. However, as this is a peaceful rural location we like to give our guests a lot of space to do their own thing and relax This is rural and tranquil, whilst having great local pubs and a short hop to Bath, Bristol and Wells. There are some high class restautants locally (Pony & Trap, The Pig), but the local pub (the Litton) is very good. There are fabulous walks straight from your door and Litton lake is a very pretty stroll. Additionally, the wifi here is excellent with a 100Mb (Website hidden by Airbnb) you can be as away or as connected as you like. Public transportation is one mile away and is a bus service between Wells and Bristol. In reality a car is needed Parking on site for upto 4 cars There are plenty of lovely walks or hikes straight from your door Unfortunately Airbnb doesn’t allow us to list them.
