A cosy home from home nestling in the small town of Alva at the foot of the picturesque Ochil Hills in central Scotland mid-way between Glasgow and Edinburgh and close to the town of Stirling. Fully equipped to meet all your needs this apartment is ideal for a peaceful getaway and provides an excellent base for exploring the activities and history of Stirlingshire and Clackmannanshire. The apartment has fibre Broadband Wi-Fi, TV, Wii and DVD player with a wide collection of DVDs for all tastes The apartment has a fully equipped kitchen with a Senseo coffee machine and all the cooking equipment you could ever need and a dishwasher. We also have a washing machine/dryer and for business travellers we have a desk and work area within the main living space. The apartment is furnished with cushions and curtains made by the owners from traditional Scottish fabrics and is designed with guest comfort and convenience in mind. All bedding and towels are provided for your stay with us. The apartment is for guest use alone with a large living area, two bedrooms, kitchen, bathroom and toilet all for your use. Myself and my wife Lynda will be available to help you throughout your booking process and during your stay with us. We are happy to help with any information on the apartment or the Stirling/ Clackmannanshire area including information on the history of the area, local places to visit, great walks, restaurants and shopping and Outlander sites to visit (my wife is a huge fan). The apartment comes with a pack containing information on the apartment and local area. All guests will be greeted personally, given the keys and shown around the apartment to make sure everything meets your requirements and expectations. We are secure and safe following all Government guidelines regarding COVID-19. We have secured the Visit Scotland 'Good to go' kitemark. Alva is located at the foot of the Ochil Hills which provide a beautiful backdrop. At the heart of Central Scotland the apartment makes a great base to explore this area steeped in history and boasting wonderful scenery and wildlife as well as many activities to suit all tastes and ages. William Wallace's Monument, Stirling Castle, The Battle of Bannockburn and many Outlander film locations are all close by. There are many golf courses near by including the Alva course 5 minutes walk away, and Gleneagles Hotel is only 30 minutes drive away. The Apartment has bus stops right outside the door which connect you to Stirling and Alloa both of which have train stations to take you anywhere in Scotland. Parking is available free of charge at the front and rear of the apartment. Alva is a small, friendly hillfoots town in the heart of central Scotland at the foot of the Ochil Hills. It boasts beautiful scenery for the walkers and cyclists including the Alva glen reaching deep into the hills. The town itself is small and has a few shops, amenities, restaurants and carry-outs and good bus links to the surrounding area including the large towns of Stirling, Alloa, and also Stirling University. It is only a one hour drive from Glasgow and Edinburgh both of which are also accessible by train from Stirling. If you want to grab a quick breakfast in the morning and don't want to cook, Baynes the bakers is just next door and does excellent breakfast filled rolls as does the Co-Op just along the road. The apartment itself is on the main street through Alva which can mean some noise from the main street is inevitable so not suitable for guests who wish for complete quiet. Please note also that the shower is not a power shower as the bathroom is small and not suitable for a power shower. Public transport is easy to use and well connected in the local area if you need it. Bus services run from directly outside the apartment to Stirling and Alloa where there are train stations. Free parking is available at the front and rear of the apartment. We have secured the Visit Scotland 'Good to Go' Kitemark demonstrating we are complying with all Government COVID requirements, ensuring we are safe .
