Country cottage next to family home, within large sloping, secluded garden. Kitchen, open plan lounge/bedroom, bathroom, all self-contained. Beautiful countryside setting, very quiet. Dedicated parking place, near house with 50 metre sloping access to house. 10 minute drive from seaside town of Whitby, 8 minute walk to train station, 6 minute walk to bus stop. Sleights village has a bakery, butchers, Spar shop with post office, 2 pubs, 1 tearoom, fish and chip shop and a Doctors' surgery. House is on a hill, with beautiful panoramic views and private drive off the road including parking for one car, 50m walk up the drive to access the apartment. Large garden , with private patio area complete with table and chairs. The lounge has been made open plan with the bedroom and contains two sofas TV and dining table. Bedroom has a double bed with access both sides and chest of drawers storage space. Also has bathroom with shower, toilet, wash hand basin, and small kitchenette. Guests have their own living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom, with access independent of the main house. Guests have free use of the large garden which is shared with the main house. Our family live in a house joined to the cottage , but both are separate entities, so guests can have as much or as little interaction with the hosts as they would like. We can be very hands-off but always contactable if necessary. Very safe, quiet neighbourhood, with houses set back from the road. Very green, countryside village. A lovely mature garden surrounds the cottage. The seaside town of Whitby is just a 10 minute drive away, and there is a park and ride service located 5 minutes from the house. Alternatively there are buses every half hour, which depart from a bus stop a 6 minute walk down the hill from our house. Trains run daily between Whitby and Middlesborough, with Sleights station an 8 minute walk down the hill. The cottage has been updated and redecorated in April 2021. A full new bathroom has been installed allowing direct access to the bedroom. The bedroom has been changed completely to allow access from both sides of the bed and has been transformed into a spacious open plan arrangement with the lounge.
