Almond cottage is one of three new cabins, positioned above a dam in the heart of the Banhoek conservancy. It is a light, modern cabin with direct access to endless hiking and the finest mountain biking trails in the western cape. Although it is styled as a two person cabin, there is a queen sized pod attached to the living room which can sleep 2 children or an extra guest and can be made up for small extra fee.Almond cottage is set back from the lake and enjoys views of farmland and mountains. Almond cottage is styled as a two person cabin with a fully functional kitchen/dining area. There is a queen sized bedroom and en-suite bathroom with a shower. There is a queen sized pod attached to the living room which can sleep 2 children or an extra guest for a small extra fee.. The deck of this cottage reaches out over the lake to allow you to jump into the icy water on a hot day. You will need a car to get into town from the farm. It is a short drive, 10 mins into town and parking is readily available both on the street and undercover during the day. Uber is not always reliable in our area, however if you do take one please do not give out the security codes to access the farm. Meet the taxi at the bottom gate and leave your own car on the parking bay just inside the gate. Guests have freedom to roam over the whole of this 60 hectare farm and are welcome to swim in the dams. There is a jetty on the edge of the lake to allow you to sunbathe and swim. I love to meet our guests and I am always happy to chat and give suggestions and recommendations. I would ask that if you have special requests that you ask before the end of the farm day at 5 pm. I find (Hidden by Airbnb) to be the easiest and quickest form of communication. We are a 10 minute drive from Stellenbosch, a beautiful and vibrant university town with a strong food and wine culture. It has many beautiful streets and leafy courtyards to explore and wonderful hiking in the mountains overlooking the town. You will need a car to get into town from the farm. It is a short drive, 10 mins into town and parking is readily available both on the street and undercover during the day. On arrival guests have a welcome pack including a bottle of our own wine (tee totallers are welcome to request juice instead) tea, coffee, milk and some wood and toilet paper to get you started. Thereafter I expect guests to replenish their supplies from the shop as everyone’s needs and preferences are different. I feel that this is part of the nature of a self catering establishment and allows us to keep our prices competitive.
