Self contained private cottage annex.
At the gateway to the Jurassic coast, the Purbecks hills, local pubs, Poole Town and Quay, Poole harbour, country walks.....the list goes on, old Wareham town, Lulworth Cove, Corfe Castle and Lulworth Castle all within a very short distance from Cream Cottage. The cottage is the oldest house in the area, the original part was built around 1790 and was the only building standing in the immediate area for a long time. It stands on Dorchester Road which may have been one of the original roads that were used to transport goods being unloaded at Poole Quay and taken to the old market trading town of Dorchester. The cottage has a rectangular room attached that can be accessed through a narrow hall at the back of the chimney stack, however as guests there is a door fitted to the annex itself so you have privacy and your own access entrance without needing to be in the main house. There will most likely be someone in most of the time, when this is the case it may be ok to access other parts of the house and have interaction with the owner who would be more than happy to keep making sure guests have everything they need for a memorable stay. The house is on the main Road leading of Upton and into Lytchett Minster, the Purbecks can be seen at distance from the front rooms of the house so is perfectly placed to wander into Poole Town, or a few minuets and into the countryside. There are local shops, Spa, Co-op, fish and chips and Costa toward the top of the same Road the cottage is on, they are within a 5 minute walk, a few minutes walk the other direction you have an old farm like courtyard craft centre and cafe doing fabulous breakfasts and lunch time menu. Carry on walking and there is a Hall and Woodhouse pub doing great food with outdoor seating, very popular in the summer sitting outside in the evening. Upton County House and bird sanctuary are only a 15 minute walk from the cottage, the outer area has recently been cut back and walking jogging and cycling around the newly arranged tracks are great. There is also a lovely walled garden and cafe within the grounds, the tracks take you to the back of Poole Harbour and you can even walk or cycle in to Poole from there too very easily. If you feel the car is not needed this is ideal, there is plenty of off road parking at the cottage, there are bus stops virtually outside the cottage that will take you one way in to Poole then beyond to Bournemouth if required, the other way heading west to Wareham, Corfe Castle and all the way along the Jurrasic coastline to Bridport in West Dorset There are many walks, road and mountain biking trails in the area, Wareham forest, Purbeck hills and Jurrasic coast, Poole Quay and the chain link ferry across the mouth of the Sandbanks harbour leading to Studland beach and Old Harry Rocks, these are all areas very easily reached by cycling there, but there will also be an option for storing the cycles in the garage with the owners bikes, the garage has very good security doors fixed.
