Located at the top of Goodwick Hill in this pretty coastal village, this 3 bedroom stone cottage/ex farmhouse dates back to 1770 and sleeps 6. There is ample off road parking for 2 cars, and a fully enclosed back garden safe for little ones. Within a mile you have the coast path, pubs, shops and transport links etc, making this an excellent base to explore Pembrokeshire year round. There are two receptions in the cottage; A sitting room to the right with a TV/DVD combo, books/DVD's, leather sofa's & chairs etc. To the left is the dining room accommodating six at the table, some extra seating, a writing bureau & original fireplace feature. A small nook also houses a home organ. Both receptions have beautiful wood beams. A small step up leads into a hallway and the fully equipped kitchen, which has a newer washer/dryer combo, an American style fridge, microwave etc. The back door then leads out into the garden, which has a metal patio set & brick fire pit. It’s fully enclosed & safe for little ones. Back in the hallway, there is a folding wood/glass partition that leads to the mid level bathroom and stairs. The bathroom has a full bath, shower and an up-cycled vanity unit. In the airing cupboard you will find spare sheets, towels, high chair, clothes horse, ironing board, and the cushions for the garden patio set if you need them. Upstairs, the master bedroom has a double bed, second bedroom has wooden bunk beds and one single bed, and the third bedroom has a single bed. The cottage is most comfortable for up to 4 adults, and the bunks for children/teens. Linen and towels are provided and the beds made up for your arrival. Central heating is controlled via a Nest thermostat. If you are traveling with bicycles, then you are more than welcome to store them inside the cottage, although there is also a shed in the back garden if space becomes a premium. The property is easy to find; A40 toward the ferry terminal, go around the roundabout and straight on until you come to the Rose & Crown pub. Turn left there, and proceed right up to the top of the hill. As you round the bend at the top, the property will be directly in front of you. Guest access is for the entire property except the garage and a very small box room upstairs. Plenty of off road parking at the front of the house. Please message me with any and all questions. Thanks. Goodwick has the benefit of several Shops, a Post Office/Store, Public Houses, Restaurants, a Fish & Chip Shop Café/Take-away, a Petrol Filling Station, Supermarket etc. Fishguard Harbour being close by provides a Ferry Terminal for Southern Ireland and in addition, there is also a Railway Station. Goodwick sands beach is a 10-15 minute walk (or 5 min drive) and has an outdoor playground and Oceanlab. The well known Market Town of Fishguard is within a short drive and has the benefit of a good Shopping Centre together with a wide range of amenities and facilities which briefly include Secondary and Primary Schools, Churches, Chapels, a Building Society, Hotels, Restaurants, Public Houses, Take-Aways, Art Galleries, a Cinema/Theatre, Supermarkets and a Leisure Centre. For walkers and hikers, you can leave the car, and set off straight from the house. The award winning coast path is less than a mile away. Bus number 410 loops around to Fishguard Square, and from there you can link up with the 404 Strumble Shuttle which goes to St Davids via various popular stops along the way. If you are into cycling, then you can set off in either direction from the house. To the right..up and out toward Garn Fawr, Strumble head, St Nichols etc. where the roads are quiet and scenery spectacular, or down the hill into the village & onto Fishguard, Dinas and Newport. The real challenge for many cycling enthusiasts is climbing Goodwick Hill, which has been a stage feature in events such as “The Tour of Pembrokeshire” ..for very good reason! For longer journeys, the train station is at the bottom of the hill, enabling rail links near and far (although we never actually hear the train up where we are), and there’s also the nearby ferry terminal if you fancy a day trip over to Ireland!
