Fresh, clean accommodation, tucked away in the hills with fantastic views across the Brecon Beacons National Park. The accommodation has it’s own entrance and is part of the farmhouse where your hosts, Ken and Sue live. We have a 12 acre smallholding with a flock of Black Welsh Mountain Sheep and 2 delightful Pygmy Goats. It’s the perfect location to watch the magnificent red kite birds of prey soaring above. We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise. Open plan accommodation with kitchen, dining area, sofa and tv area, and a bedroom with en-suite shower room. The fully equipped kitchen has a combi oven (microwave and roasting) and a 4 ring induction hob. Fridge with ice compartment, kettle, and electric toaster. There’s a small TV and DVD player with a selection of DVD’s. The central heating is on a timer. WIFI and a strong 4G mobile phone signal available at the property. Outside space is shared and you are welcome to sit out and enjoy the gardens. Feel free to wander around our farm and meet the sheep and goats. The private entrance to your accommodation is at the side of the farmhouse. It is for your use only. There’s ample free parking. We are always available should you need us during your stay. We can offer a hearty home cooked farmhouse breakfast. Please ask for more information. We are in a very quiet rural location, so its a great place to relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Our nearest neighbours are a 10 minute walk across the fields. You won’t hear any traffic only birdsong and bleating sheep. The views from the property are spectacular. The nearest shop for milk, bread, eggs is the Village Shop in Llanwrda, 1.5 miles away and the nearest town is Llandovery, a historic drovers town (6 miles). There are several cafe’s and pubs in Llandovery serving delicious good value food, a proper fish & chip shop, Indian and Chinese takeaways, a couple of small supermarkets, doctor/dentist and pharmacy. The pretty town of Llandeilo is around 8 miles away. It has several pubs and a hotel, small independent shops and cafe’s, a gin house/deli and a 1950’s style chocolate emporium that sells delicious ice cream. Also in Llandeilo is Newton House, owned by the National Trust, with its deer park, nature reserve and the ruins of Dinefwr Castle. The Heart of Wales railway line goes through the village of Llanwrda (request stop, just put out your hand to stop the train). The train weaves it way through the mountains of Mid Wales and glorious views can be seen. We recommend taking a day trip from Llanwrda to Shrewsbury. Nearby places to visit (within half an hours drive) are: Dinefwr Castle and Newton House National Botanical garden of Wales Aberglasney Gardens Dolaucothi Gold Mines The famous “Waterfall Country” boasting 4 spectacular falls and walks is less than an hour’s drive, as is Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons. Rhossilli Bay Beach is a little further afield (just over an hour) but well worth the drive. We are in a very rural location, so you will need a car to get into one of our local towns. There are steps up into the accommodation.
