Romantic Getaway with the Best of Both Worlds

Our airy loft space is set in the oldest part of Alhama - the Barrio Arabe and is perfectly positioned for a base for walking or cycling in the national parks, local sightseeing or simply enjoying the relaxed pace of life, drinks and tapas. We love being close to a little supermarket and being less than a 10 minute stroll to a good selection of bars. The views from the terrace are of a landscape which changes depth and colour continually as the sun moves across the sky. The best of both worlds. Our place is nestled in the oldest part of Alhama yet offers a modern space and facilities. It is light and airy inside - unusual for the old houses in this area. The inside area is 41m sq. There is a wood burning stove to cozy up to in winter nights and there is always the ever changing view from the terrace. Watching the sun rise with a coffee in the morning to witnessing the softening of the colours in the evening with a glass of something cold. You enter our house from the main door on the street into a large (shared) entrance hall. Casa Cervantes is accessed by stairs from the hall. The apartment has it's own lockable front door. The washing machine is shared and is located in the cupboard under the stairs in the main entrance hall. We live in the basement apartment and will welcome you when you arrive and be available to answer questions and to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We understand that every guest has a different preference for interaction and we will take our cue from you. Guests are often surprised by how much Alhama has to offer. It as a good selection of cafes, bars, restaurants, supermarkets and things to do in the area. There are organised tours of the town where you can learn about it's rich culture and history. Alhama is also a good base for hiking, cycling and of course, a visit to the famous hot springs. If you are arriving to Alhama by bus, Casa Cervantes is about a 10-15 minute walk (some uphill) from the bus stop. If you have heavy bags, we can arrange to meet you. Parking in Alhama is all street parking and there are no time limits or charges. You can almost always find parking within a minute's walk or less. The streets in this area are very old so they are narrow. If you prefer you can park near the police station and walk to our place (about 5-6 minutes). If you have an electric car and need a charging point, you will find 2 opposite the tourist office near the big red wall and steps up to the plaza. You need to walk up two flights of stairs to get to the studio apartment. There is a handrail most of the way. There is free street parking close by. Our maximum occupancy is 2 people. There is one king size bed (150cm). If you are two people who do not want to share a bed, we can provide a fold up guest bed.
