Beautiful room with view over Bath
A large and light bedroom with high ceilings and a fantastic view over Bath City and the hills beyond. The room is very peaceful with an extremely comfortable bed and an en suite shower room. It's a short walk (down hill) into Bath City centre. The French bed is made up for guests with Egyptian cotton sheets. Towels are provided and there is also a hairdryer, a kettle to make tea and coffee in the bedroom and a TV. The room has wireless internet access. We provide a simple continental breakfast of brioche (along with a selection of jams), fruit, coffee, tea and orange juice. Usually we would invite you to enjoy it in the family kitchen but in order to maintain social distancing we currently leave it for you in the room. When entering through our front door, your room is one floor up. The room and the en-suite bathroom occupy the entire floor and once the door is closed it offers a strong sense of privacy. Traditionally we would offer breakfast in our family kitchen but currently leave it for guests in the room with additions such as cold milk, juice and butter delivered and left outside the bedroom in the mornings. When (and if) parking your car in our space at the bottom of our garden, you'll come through our family living area. This is fine by us and we'll observe the 2 metre distancing. Unfortunately our dog hasn't learnt this yet. The room itself is very private from the rest of our living space. We will happily offer advice about Bath (if you’d like it) on things such as good cafés, pubs, shops, galleries, the main tourist attractions, enjoyable walks etc. Any questions or requests please feel free to ask us. We want your stay here to be comfortable, enjoyable and extra special. With only a 15 minute walk (down hill) into Bath city centre and about 25 minutes to Bath Spa station you can easily walk to all of the following in 20 mins: the Roman Baths, the Thermae Spa, the Royal Crescent, Jane Austen’s House, the Bath Rugby ground and shops galore. The walk back home takes a little longer and a bit more energy as it is up hill. Located within easy access of the M4 motorway, we have an off street car parking space you can use at the bottom of our garden. If you arrive by train we would recommend taking a taxi ride from the station (£8 approx) as the walk here is quite steep if you have bags to carry. We are a 7 minute walk from the great community-run pub The Bell which regularly has live music and you can get excellent pizzas on a music night. It is a 15 minute walk to the Victoria Park and the Royal Crescent. There is a bus stop right outside our house. If you want to catch a bus back from town it is the numbers 6 and 7. The bus stop to ask for from town is "Gays Hill" on Camden Road. Our dog lives only on the ground floor of our house and can sometimes be a little over bouncy when he first meets you. If this is problematic for you it's easy to avoid all contact with him by only using our front door and avoiding the family kitchen, living and garden area.
