We are located approximately 3km from Skibbereen town centre (about (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) mins walking). There is a bus service available between Skibbereen and Baltimore. Although there are no bus stops within easy access, the bus will stop for you along the road and we recommend you flag down the bus at the corner of the turning to Loch Hyne (approx 100 metres left outside of the main gate) either side of the road depending on which direction you would like to go. Bus timetables are available in the Chalet for your convenience For you golf enthusiasts Skibbereen and West Carberry golf public course is virtually on our doorstep. Loch Hyne which is a European heritage site is about 10mins drive. Turn left out of the gates and take the first left turn. It is signposted. The loch itself is one of the largest salt water tidal lakes in Europe . You can either choose to take a leisurely stroll around one side of the Loch or if you are feeling like something a little more strenuous there is a hike through the woods behind the car park and the view from the top spectacular! During the summer months night kayaking adventures are available and well worth doing as on a clear evening when it becomes dark the bioluminescence at the bottom of the lake glows! The fishing village of Baltimore is about a 15 minute drive. There are ferries leaving on a regular basis to the Sherkin and Cape Clear islands. Whale watching and excursions to the Fastnet lighthouse are also optional day trips. Baltimore itself offers some of the best restaurants around West Cork. Be sure to take a visit and if you love fish you won’t be disappointed. USEFUL CONTACT NUMBERS Our address: Coolmoreen Cottage, Bunlick, Skibbereen, Co.Cork. P81F227 Ireland.
