Crazy Pheasant - luxury yurt, hot tub and views
Therapy for the soul. Enjoy a digital detox in an authentic Mongolian yurt set in peaceful, rural surroundings and beautiful views . Recharge in luxury. Soak in the wood-fired hot tub, cook over coals, toast marshmallows at the firepit, embrace the coziness of the wood fired stove. Experience the chorus of countryside; soaring buzzards, hooting owls, foxes, wild geese and more. Nudge perspective and tranquility back into your world without the baggage of modern life and digital intrusions! Located in beautiful North Wales, this very spacious (21 foot diameter) authentic Mongolian yurt is erected on a wooden floor on a hillside with great southerly and westerly views to Black Mountain and beyond. It is fully equipped and appointed with luxury in mind. For your exclusive use, there is a luxurious and tastefully appointed walk-in rainfall shower, w.c. and basin in a wooden cabin next to the yurt on one side. On the opposite side is a wood-fired hot tub (again for your exclusive use) with beautiful views over the valley and towards nearby Clwydian Range. The hot tub water is replaced and freshly filled for each guest. Inside the yurt you'll find sumptuous and luxurious furniture, bedding, cookware, crockery, cutlery and tableware. There's a guitar for some musical inspiration. There's even a telescope that you can take outside on a clear dark night. Car parking is provided free of charge. A short 150 yard walk along a prepared gravel track leads up to the Yurt. Along this track you'll find some fruit trees, (apples, pears, cherry, blackcurrant, gooseberry, damson, plum, raspberry) vegetable beds and beehives. Pick-your-own is available, depending of course, on the season. You may however prefer to get the honey from us! We supply enough wood for your first night that will fire the hot tub, keep you toasty warm in the yurt with the indoor wood-fired stove. Extra wood for subsequent nights and charcoal for the BBQ is available at a modest price. Please note - there is no electricity supply. This is in keeping with our digital-detox theme and serves as a refreshing reminder of the worrying extent to which we have allowed technology to unecessarily intrude in our activities and habits. You'll love it. Remember to bring a torch. However, charging of phones etc is possible at the house or depending on weather, with a solar charger at the yurt. Our nearest village (Trueddyn), just five minutes away, has a well stocked general store serving the community. In addition there is Swan's Farm shop open on Fridays and Saturdays. With working farms (primarily cattle and sheep) nearby, we ask our guests to respect the countryside code and of course exercise caution when using public footpaths especially near the rivers as well as fields with cattle. There are many public footpaths you can enjoy. Nercwys Forest on Black Mountain is a short walk away. Cycling is a popular activity in this area. The Llandegla Forest with its walking and mountain biking trails is very well known. A short drive (or slightly longer bike ride) takes you to the Horseshoe Pass that will lead you to Llangollen with the river Dee (white water rafting and canoeing) and a steam railway amongst the popular attractions. The city of Chester is worth a visit too with its great architecture, Roman amphitheatre and city walls. Easy day trips to Llandudno, Snowdonia and Anglesey for a wider experience of North Wales. If retail therapy is your thing, the hugely popular Cheshire Oaks designer outlet is less than a 30 minute drive away. Please bring warm clothing!
