Charming Country Cottage (no1 Middle Oakshott)

The semi-detached cottage is situated in the rural hamlet of Oakshott in the Hampshire Hangers part of the South Downs National Park. The semi-detached cottage has recently undergone extensive improvements to provide a comfortable modern living environment in a traditional setting. All spaces are available to you as you have exclusive use. Someone will always be available for advice and help. Oakshott is situated a mile to the South West of the village of Hawkley. It's 50 miles from London three miles off the A3 and 25 miles from Portsmouth. The area is well known for its beauty and extensive network of public footpaths and bridleways. The cottage garden goes down to Oakshott Stream the other side of which is The Hangars Way, a noted walk, which links Alton, to the North, with the Queen Elizabeth Country Park, to the South. For the less ambitious hiker there are a number of charming pubs in easy walking distance. The Hawkley Inn currently provides food essentials but Petersfield (just six miles away) has Lidl, Tesco and Waitrose supermarkets. The Historic City of Winchester is 19 miles to the West. Gun Wharf Quays in Portsmouth provides a serious shopping opportunity. In the area there are several riding stables, two fishing lakes and multiple other sporting opportunities. For the more adventurous, a day trip to the beaches at West Wittering or even The Isle of Wight is a possibility. For the most part though our guests prefer to just put on their walking boots. There will be a 'welcome pack' of milk, bread, butter and jam for your first breakfast in the cottage.
