Peaceful Studio-Apartment for Creative People

A perfect retreat for musicians, artists, writers and other creative people who are looking for a peaceful location to work or take some time out for creative recovery, consisting of a spacious bedroom/workroom (4×4 metres), bathroom with shower, and small kitchen. The accommodation is light and has a good wifi connection. Double doors give access to a private terrace — ‘the Italian Courtyard’ —, an afternoon sun-trap on sunny days. There is secure car parking space on site. The kitchen is fitted with a two ring electric cooker, combination microwave oven and fridge. Breakfast supplies are provided , including home-baked bread, and home-made marmelade, yoghurt and granola. The studio-apartment is adjacent to the Gresham House Studio-Gallery and nearby Music Studio. We will be pleased to welcome you to this lovely studio-apartment, which forms part of our creative location in the Tamar Valley. We will be around most of the time, working in the art or music studio or on the vegetable garden. If you would like to, you may be able to book additional tuition, for example in singing, songwriting, lino printing, drawing or creative writing with either of us, singer/composer Helen Porter or artist/writer Peter Ursem. Please let us know in advance. Tuition rates are £45 per hour. Gresham House Studios is an inspirational place with great views. We trust that some of the spirit of this place will rub off on our creative guests. The Tamar Valley is a beautiful area to visit, with great opportunities for walking, cycling and exploring, either directly from Gresham House Studios or incorporating a small drive (for example to Tavistock, Dartmoor or the sea). There are railway stations at walking distance in Gunnislake and Calstock where you can pick up the Tamar Valley line to Plymouth. The opening times for Gresham House Studio-Gallery, adjacent to the apartment, are Wednesday to Saturday from 10am to 5pm, although Peter is usually in the studio at other days too, and guests are welcome to pop in and take a look at artworks on display.
