Angus Cottage, Scottish Private Estate
This charming cottage is situated within the beautiful Harviestoun Estate. Harviestoun lies along the southern side of the Ochils and stretches between Dollar and Tillicoultry in Clackmannanshire. It has fabulous views stretching down to the valley where the river Devon flows and up to the ochils and beyond. With a large private south facing garden it can be enjoyed all year round. Perfect for walkers, artists or nature lovers alike this is a wonderful place to relax and explore from. The house is arranged with both bedrooms situated on the first floor with a W/C between them on the landing. Downstairs there is a cosy sitting room with open fire and views to both the hills from the North and the valley from the South. A door leads to the garden from a small downstairs landing area situated between the sitting room and dinning room. The dinning room offers a fairly spacious area for dinning with views to the valley. The main bathroom is situated on the ground floor between the dinning room and kitchen, this is equipped with a bath with shower above, W/C and sink. The kitchen has the main door that leads into the garden, with a small lobby area for leaving muddy boots and coats. There is plenty of space for parking just behind the cottage on the farm road, a small gate then leads you into the enclosed garden. The cottage is situated within a 20minute walking distance from Dollar along a beautiful foothill path, local attractions can be found such as Castle Campbell, Dollar glen and Dollar museum and lovely cafes and shops can be accessed with ease. For walkers, the hills await you from your back door! For garden lovers ‘The Japanese Garden’ is just East of Dollar and Stirling castle and the Wallace mounument can be found within 20minutes drive to the West. Gleneagles hotel and golf course are 25mintues drive North. Edinburgh and Glasgow are within 50minutes drive and Edinburgh airport is 45minutes drive. * We do accept dogs, however this is a working farm and horses and deer are often grazing in the fields next to the cottage, therefore it is essential dogs do not bark, chase or worry livestock. An extra charge of £5/day per dog is required on arrival. We kindly ask that dogs are not taken into the bedrooms or upstairs, and that all garden areas are checked for any mess prior to departure. Please inform us if you wish to bring a dog prior to booking. * We also have another cottage on the estate called Deerpark cottage, this sleeps 5people in three rooms. Both cottages are within walking distance to one another if extra space was needed for family gatherings. * Angus cottage is situated up a private farm road. This road is a dirt track road that can be quite rough in places and sometimes have large pot holes following heavy rain. If you have a car that has a low bottom you may find the car does not appreciate the road. We kindly ask that pets be kept downstairs and off all furniture. A travel cot and children’s toys and books can also be provided on request. Please inform us if you need a cot as it is shared between another cottage and will need to be booked for your stay (extra cost £10 for use during your stay). Allergy note: Our duvets and pillows are natural feather down. Free use of the washing machine.
