Villa Ca de Mill

The villa is located 5 min up the hill from beautiful Menaggio town on lake Como. The place offers magnificent view, tranquillity, nice garden with outdoor facilities, pool, large living room, fire-place, modern kitchen with all the necessary equipment. There are 4 bedrooms (2 of them have their own bathrooms with shower), one common bathroom with the shower and one common toilet with the sink. Additional services. Great for family vacation or for the group of friends. CIR 013145-CNI-00330 The villa has been constructed in 1885 and has been completely renovated in 2016. We tried to keep the authentic atmosphere of "once upon a time" combining it with the modern standards of comfort and technology. We are sure that this combination will give you an opportunity to spend an incredible vacation in Italy. Bedrooms: There are one garden-view and one street-view master-bedroom, each complemented with the private bathroom with shower cabins, lake view "kids room" with 2 single bed can be used for the children as well as for the adults. The beds can be united if needed. The last floor occupies a beautiful mansarda - my personal favourite room in the house. Please note, that it has rather narrow spiral staircase to get in it and low ceilings. Bathrooms: As mentioned above each master-bedroom has its own bathroom, in addition there is one large spa-quality bathroom with the large shower cabin located between main and second floor. On the main floor there is a toilet with laundry machine and sink to wash the hands. One more shower is available for use in the pool. Entrance: There are a bit of a stairs to get into the house, as the garden and house are located on the hill. The main floor has 2 entrances: the "hall" and the "kitchen", named after where they lead to. Kitchen: The kitchen is equipped with the induction cooker hob, oven, toaster, microwave, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, fridge and dishwasher. It also has all the dishes, glasses and silverware for cooking and eating in the house. We provide some coffee capsules, tea bags, sugar, salt. Dining facilities: The kitchen is connected with open-plan dining-room. In the dining-room there is a democratic round table perfect for dinners with friends and / or family. On the level of the kitchen entrance there is a small alfresco patio with the outside dining table from where opens a breath-taking panorama on the lake. Perfect choice for the hot Italian days. Relax: Living-room is connected with the dining room, being united they form an open space location with the windows facing the lake. There is access to the long balcony from both dining- and living rooms. TV with with main satellite channel is available for the use of our guests. Of course there is also unlimited internet (wi-fi) for your use. A nice cosy couch for chilling out is located in the dining -room in front of the fire-place. Extra: On the basement level you can find so called "cantina" - a kind of room that used to be a storage or a wine - cellar, but nowadays is practically out of use. Next door to it you can find a small swimming-pool, probably not enough to train for the next Olympic games, but just perfect to refresh on a hot afternoon and absolutely loved by all the kids that are coming to the house. There is also a shower. Please note that it is a summer project and the premises itself are NOT heated. The pool is NOT a hot tub. It is heated, but the average temperature is 24 - 25 C ° . We run this facility from mid April till end of September. In case it is still cold the pool opening can happen in the beginning middle of May. If it is of any importance please consult before the booking. Down the stairs, just under the pool terrace there is a beautiful lawn with the lake view. The deckchairs are provided and can be found in "la cantina" Parking: The house has it's own garage in the basement which is enough for one or 2 small cars, if the second one is not too large. Also the car (s) can be parked just at the front of the house. A/C The house is not equipped with air conditioning. I never use one, and do not suffer a lot form the heat, however I understand that for some people it can be a serious problem. The absence of a/c was not my personal choice, but the decision of the investors. We have fans in every bedroom and the house is located in the shady zone, so usually it is enough to maintain an ok temperature. However, please take this feature int consideration when booking the premises. CIR 013145-CNI-00330 We provide access to all the house except some technical spaces like the boiler and staff-rooms. They are usually locked - so no worries you will not get where you shouldn't! Menaggio is full of tourist attraction, cafés, bars, authentic eateries and restaurants as well as shops and souvenir stores. You can spend the time walking down the lake promenade, staying in a popular family Lido with child-friendly facilities, as well as swimming, cycling, hiking and more. It is also possible to use a private water-taxi or even to rent a boat! For the guests of villa Elena I have prepared an info brochure where I have gathered all my experience of being almost local, yet stranger in Italy. So may be your holidays in Italy can be a little bit more authentic and fun. I live not far away from Menaggio and usually available if any help is needed. We are happy to provide the additional services for our guests: Personal (or small group - up to 6 ppl) yoga classes in the garden with a certified yoga instructor with years of experience in teaching yoga. I must go out of the shade - it's me myself. ))) Cooking class with your choice of some traditional Italian dish (dishes) to make. (up to 8 ppl) Dinner form Italian grandma (up to 8 ppl). Traditional Italian food cooked for you at the house. The choice of appetisers, first and second courses to be confirmed. Personal / family / group / child photo session at the villa or at any location on the lake you choose (reasonable to access). Private sail boat tours. The beautiful day or evening sailing up and down the lake. Stops for swimming, lunch (if desired) in a nice lake-view restaurant, coffe and deserts in another bar across the lake, aperetivo on board at sunset. All the prices are available on request. The house is located in a very quite area, so you can have a really good rest from your everyday life. At the same time it is close to one of the centre towns on the lake - Menaggio, so getting around with car, bus or boat is quiet easy. The villa is located 5 minutes drive from Menaggio town, which is is perfectly situated for reaching the famous tourist attractions and visitor delights of Lake Como, as well as the modern cultural amusements of Lugano (45 minutes), Como (50 minutes) and Milan (1.5 hour away). To move from Menaggio with the public transport you can use the buses (central lake line C10) or the ferries (the schedule for both can be found in the house). Please note that there are some stairs in the garden and in the house. The last (mansard) bedroom can be accessed by narrow spiral staircase only.
