This is a fully modernised luxury ground floor Renaissance apartment, with large elegant rooms (no stairs). Built by a noble family and being once a former chapel, it has huge windows looking out on to the wonderful Tuscan countryside, panoramic views of the Tiber valley and with the Appenine mountains in the distance. The apartment is located on the top of the medieval walls of the ancient city of Anghiari, one of the prettiest places in Italy. This is a ground floor apartment. The master bedroom & luxurious bathroom has one large double bed & one single bed. The second large bedroom also has one double and one single with access to a second bathroom. The property has a charming sitting room and recently remodeled kitchen/dining room. Our apartment was built 600 years ago on the same street where St Thomas of Canterbury lived while recovering from a serious illness. This fully modernised apartment has large elegant rooms (with no stairs) and extra wide doors. Built by a noble family, it has huge windows looking out on the wonderful Tuscan countryside painted by the great artist Piero della Francesco, whose famous paintings are in local museums at Sansepolcro & Arezzo. The finest in Italian art can be found in three internationally famous museums within a two hour drive. Our accommodation is luxurious, the sitting room has two relaxing armchairs, sofa, new TV & DVD & CD players. There is a small library of classical & modern music CDs, some English books & DVDs. The kitchen/dining has recently remodeled. There is dining seating for 4-6 people and all modern appliances. The food cupboard always has bread, milk, butter, sugar and everything you need for your first breakfast when you arrive. You will also find a bottle of wine and glasses to toast yourselves. This apartment is an elegant Renaissance apartment with soaring ceilings & vista windows looking out over the green Tiber Valley with the Appenine mountains in the distance. The building is on the boardwalk on top of the medieval walls of the ancient city of Anghiari, designated by the Italian Tourist Board as one of the 100 prettiest places in Italy. Anghiari is a place full of history, friendly people and close to the border of Umbria. It has 6 excellent restaurants, weekly markets & and a good mix of shops. Built on a narrow pedestrian-only street in the medieval quarter, the apartment is in a six hundred year old building, with medieval floor tiles and ancient timbered beams. Guests have the use of the whole apartment and all amenities as listed. In addition to Tiberview, we can offer an additional very cute & luxurious apartment for 2, which is on the same street as Tiberview. Caroline the manager for this property, who lives in Italy, is always available to assist guests for their booking and information. Our housekeeper, Fiametta, lives in an apartment in the same street and changes the sheets & towels during your stay. Giuseppe is a local man from Anghiari, and is the person who will meet you at your time of arrival, explain the workings of the apartment to you and handover the keys. As Giuseppe is local and speaks excellent English, he will be there for you to help with any problems, travel advice etc... The apartment was restored over a two year period. The modern fittings and facilities have been added without changing the historical authenticity of the place. The family who owns this apartment also own other apartments for rental within Anghiari and welcome visitors to their much loved homes. The 800 year old walled town on the border of Tuscany & Umbria has earned its place in the Italian Register of one of the most beautiful small towns of Italy. The owners chose Anghiari because it is so beautiful and unspoiled by too many tourists. The local people are freely helpful and always willing to try their English. Anghiari has 2 museums, medieval churches and 6 good restaurants, all the shops you might need and good bus services to local towns where a train can taken further afield to Rome or Florence. As mentioned before, from Anghiari there are good bus services to bigger towns such as Arezzo & Sansepolcro which have fast train services to Florence, Rome & Milan. As the historical centre of Anghiari is closed to cars, any car guests may have will have to be parked outside the city walls. There is a lift approximately 2 minutes from the apartment that takes you down to a free public car park
