The Delta Neretva covers an area of approximately 20,000 hectares of which 12,000 hectares in the Republic of Croatia and the rest of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. In the Delta area, there are some of the European wetland areas included in Ramsar and Bird Areas, as well as the Barcelona Convention, the Mediterranean Special Protected Areas. This area contains the diversity of habitats that form a beautiful and remarkable landscape. Swamps, lagoons, lakes, beaches, rivers, huts (limestone hills) and the mountains make up a mosaic of natural habitats in the Neretva Valley area.
