Charming traditional farmhouse with luxury pool

Le Haut Repaire, is set on a limestone outcrop overlooking the unspoilt Coubjours Valley. It is a charming Perigordian farmhouse set in 10 hectares of land. Sitting in an enviable position with exceptional views, the sound of the village bells drift across the valley. To be enjoyed at any time of year. Days could be wiled away by the stunning infinity pool or lazily sitting the shade of the walnut trees. Or you could choose to be more active. There are limitless opportunities on site or just a short car journey away. There are countless ancient villages and towns to explore with their rivers and castles. Or if you prefer to turn your hand to a new craft, we run a vast number of courses you may join. So how can you get all of this for such a low price I hear you ask...well, it isn't all entirely finished. We are lovingly renovating this idyllic property and it is not something that should be rushed. So, the terraces have not yet been adorned with their stone courses, and there are a few breeze blocks on show. This is reflected in the price and we hope, should not detract from your enjoyment of your stay. A car is essential except it the warmer months when it is possible to walk or cycle to some places such as the local village (St Robert) to gather supplies for the local butcher, baker and shop. There is plenty of parking. We are a family with three young children, so we are very able to provide childcare. Our children are sociable, friendly and bilingual (English and French) so not only are they fun to play with, but they could help your children brush up on their language skills. We are very keen to run courses/experiences here. Between us and other local artisans, we can turn our hands to many things including: bread/pizza making in our ancient woodfired oven; turning and carving wood; guitar making; weaving; yoga, painting, sculpting, to name but a few. Having a truffiere on site (blackdiamondtruffletrees) means that we can arrange activities such as harvesting truffles or cooking with them. We can also provide opportunities to enjoy the surroundings such as dropping off and picking up at kayak points; hiking; and advising on local events and attractions. However, we understand that some people prefer to have privacy. In which case, we are able to provide breakfast and live quietly. The local farmers are happy for you to stroll through the walnut groves and picnic under their shade. After a short 7 minute drive (very walkable) is the village of St Robert. With its well deserved status of 'Les Plus Beaux Villages du France' it is home to a wonderful bakery and other amenities such as grocers and a butchers shop. It is lovely to explore the ancient streets and 13th Century Roman Church. St Robert is also home to the best 'marches nocturne' in the summer and music festival. Further afield lie the Lot, Dordogne and Correze attractions. To list them would be exhausting, but among my favourites are Sarlat-La-Canada, La Roque Gageac, Aubazine, Castelnaud-la-chapelle and Collonges la Rouge.
