Baldiesburn blends the traditional character of an 18th century Scottish country house with modern home comforts and amenities, set amidst beautiful hill scenery, but equally well placed to link with the transport network and Central Scotland's many tourist and sporting attractions. Guests have access to Baldiesburn's private, off-street car parking (for up to 3 vehicles). Your hosts will meet you on arrival, introduce you to your accommodation and, if required, familiarise you with the area. We would be delighted to highlight local events/visitor attractions of interest. If you are staying a wee bit longer with us and would like to explore Scotland's bounty of breakfast foods, we would be more than happy to create daily menus for your stay so you can sample as many of the country's fresh, high quality ingredients as your appetite dictates! Just ask Stuart or Marion for more details. Golf enthusiasts are spoiled for choice when based at Baldiesburn. Gleneagles is 9 miles drive away. The local golf course at Muckhart boasts the rare challenge of no less than 27 holes, while St Andrews at the other end of the price spectrum is under 1 hour's drive. There is no end of good walking, fishing and outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the local area. Glendevon and the Ochil Hills are Baldiesburn's back yard, with views from the peaks stretching across the Forth Valley from the Wallace Monument and the Trossachs in the West to the Forth Bridges and the Bass Rock in the East. Many world-acclaimed castles and historic sites are within easy reach of Baldiesburn including, Castle Campbell (Dollar), Stirling Castle, Wallace Monument (Stirling), Falkland Palace (Fife), Dunfermline Abbey (Fife) and Culross nestling on the Firth of Forth. Enough to whet most appetites! There is a good range of restaurants and eateries in Dollar, Muckhart and scenic Glendevon to match all budgets and tastes, of which the following is a sample we can recommend: The Inn at Muckhart, Pool of Muckhart (huge portions and excellent local beers) The Tormaukin Hotel, Glendevon Bridge Street Kitchen, Dollar The Castle Campbell Hotel, Dollar And that's just skimming the surface of this unspoiled, little known enclave of Scotland's 'Wee County', Clackmannanshire. Baldiesburn is located on the A91 linking Stirling to St Andrews. Edinburgh, Glasgow, Perth and St Andrews are all under 1 hour's drive. There is a west bound bus halt directly opposite us and an east bound bus halt in Muckhart Village, so we are conveniently located for those wishing to use the public transport network by bus to Stirling, St Andrews, Falkirk and beyond. The nearest train station with free parking is in Alloa, a 20 minute drive from Baldiesburn. Baldiesburn has 2 en suite guest bedrooms, the Bruce room with a king-sized double bed and the Scott room with twin beds. The Bruce room can be reconfigured as family rooms (2 adults with 1 child) with the addition of a single, comfortable Aerobed. The tariff per room per night based on two sharing is £90 which includes the heartiest of Scottish breakfasts. The single occupancy and family room tariffs for the same period are £70 and £110 per room per night respectively. There is a discount of £5 for stays of 2 nights or more, applicable on the second and subsequent nights.
