18th century cottage,in the heart of Moretonhampstead Dartmoor Devon, Double bed en-suite,TV ,tea and coffee making facilities in the room. Pet friendly,I have two little dogs. Continental breakfast included I have double room with small en-suite available,I also have another double with small en-suite room on my other listing,the “old Smithy Two” There is an informal sitting room with log burner and satellite TV,there is also a dining space Price includes a continental breakfast a full English cooked breakfast is available for £6.50. I have secure dry bike storage if you are looking to cycle while on you’re stay There is a seating area in a small walled garden. I am a basket maker by trade,and very happy to arrange classes,full or half day,you will leave with a Somerset willow basket,please let me know in advance if possible so I can prepare the willow. Sitting room & small garden I am always available to offer advice for walks and sightseeing,or anything else you may need for your stay. Moretonhampstead is a moorland town and has three popular cafes,a variety of shops,three public houses that all serve excellent food and a popular pizza restaurant all pizzas made on the premises,booking a must,there is a heated outdoor swimming pool,motor museum,several pottery’s,hand made shoes and a delicatessen,perfect for picnic lunches,castle Drogo is close by with beautiful walks in the valley along the river Teign and the Anglers rest, perfect for lunch. There are some local buses,cycling paths and fantastic moorland walks on Dartmoor. There are two car parks available. Bike hire is also available from Animal crackers. Parking in Moretonhampstead can be difficult especially in the evenings, some guests find spaces just past my cottage on the right hand side, or by the church behind the property, there is a car park in station road, a short walk from the Old Smithy
