Zoe's Place - Apartment 3

Apartment 3 is located on the fringe of Neo Karlovasi, just a five minute walk from the towns' main square and retail shopping district. It is approximately 2.5 km from the Port and just 4 km from the famous Potami Beach. It is a spacious 2 bedroom apartment with a separate toilet/bathroom and an open kitchen/dining/living space. There is an outdoor setting on the shared terrace and a private balcony via the kitchen which overlooks a beautiful view with Mt Kerkis in the distance. The Apartment The bathroom has a shower, toilet, wash basin and washing machine. In the bathroom you will find the basic washing and cleaning products required to run the washing machine (including instructions). Please use a Calagon tablet (2 will be provided) for every wash as the water in Greece has high level of calcium. 4 rolls of toilet paper will also be supplied. Unfortunately due to Greece's bad plumbing toilet paper must not be thrown down the toilet but into the bin provided. Bin liners will also be supplied. A hair dryer is also supplied as well as 4 towels and a bath mat. Please do not take the towels to the beach. We will supply 2 beach towels for guests to use, located in the chest of drawers in the master bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, air conditioning, a ceiling fan and ample closet space. The fan is controlled by remote control. Unfortunately the light in the master bedroom is not working but side lamps are supplied for use instead. The second bedroom features 2 king size single beds, a ceiling fan and ample closet space. in the living area there is also a separate air conditioner, ceiling fan, a dining table and a large television and sound system. The kitchen has balcony doors that open up to a private balcony overlooking the picturesque valley and mountains to the rear of the house and the front door leads out to a lovely terrace area where there is seating for up to six people. All windows have fly screens and roller shutters. Please be careful to to open window/door too far as the roller shutter mechanism is located on the frame. Access Access to the apartment is predominantly to the rear of the property where parking is directly behind the property, there is a rear staircase that leads up to the terrace's black iron gate, and on to the front door (Apartment 3) there is also the option of front street access which requires entrance through the buildings Front door down stairs. Parking can sometimes be difficult during shops trading hours which is why the rear parking option is normally preferred Local shopping Located within a stones throw of Apartment 3 is a large variety of retail shops, cafes, restaurants and take away eateries. Just 20 meters from our front door is a Charcoal giros (Souvlaki) take away store called BAKXOS. Also approx 25 meters down the street is a mini market (VKD Market), a few meters on there is a Anthemis bakery with fresh bread and traditional Greek pastries and sweets and a few meters from there a kiosk ("periptero") which is open nearly around the clock with basic essentials including alcohol, cigarettes, milk and phone cards etc. Also in the street there is a hair dressing salon, hardware's, fresh fish market and a host of other shops too many to mention. Out of respect for our neighbours that live here all year round we request that no parties or events are held at the house during your stay. There is a bookshelf with some books and board games that you may borrow but please return when finished. The top cupboards in the bedrooms will be locked as we need to store our personal belongings. Please respect our space as we cherish our home. Smoking is not allowed in the house but ashtrays are provided for guests to smoke on the terrace or on the balcony. Unfortunately I will not be present at this time but contact phone numbers will be provided for guests with any queries to contact throughout their stay. Samos has amazing walking trails ( check out the book on our book shelf). There will be a KTEL (bus) schedule supplied in the apartment. There will be a basic first aid pack and information fact sheet. Instructions on the use of the oven/cooker, hot water and washing machine will also be provided. A starter pack of coffee, tea, milk (evaporated), salt, pepper, herbs and olive oil will also be supplied.
