Coachmans Cottage Apartment is set in the coach house and stables to Carlton Hall, dating back to 1790. Situated at the start of the Wasdale and Eskdale we are perfect for anyone wishing to climb Scafell or just enjoy the two stunning valleys. Brave drivers and cyclists may wish to tackle Hardnott pass at the top end of Eskdale. Ravensglass village and beaches a short walk away, also set on the Fell above the cottage is the amazing Muncaster Castle and Owl centre. Children and Pet friendly 🐾👍🏼 Totally independent apartment with enclosed courtyard. Double bedroom, bathroom with great shower. The main living room has small kitchen, dining table and sofa bed for extra sleeping. We are child and dog friendly. As guests in the Apartment you have sole use of the courtyard and parking spot in front of the gates. Coachmans Cottage is a family home so we are around and about for help and advice on where what and how to get the best out of our wonderful surroundings. There is a information pack in the cottage but please don’t hesitate to knock on kitchen door or text if you need help during your stay. We are perfectly placed to give easy access to Wasdale, Eskdale and Ravensglass where you can eat and drink in cafes/pubs. We also a have few fine dining spots. Wasdale valleys is the home to Scafell England’s highest mountain but also the deepest lake smallest church and biggest liar competition. Eskdale is a magical valley with everything from Roman forts to waterfalls, castles and a miniature railways for kids of all ages. This area also has the most phenomenal beaches such as Drigg and Seascale which are mostly deserted. Hundreds of footpaths and bridlepath to walk ride and cycle down, past lakes over fells and along beaches. West coast train line runs from south lakes to Carlisle and mountain goat buses cover our area comprehensively. We have plenty of parking at the cottage. Guest should park their cars in front of pale blue gates and access property through these gates.
